Okay, this is for the people who've seen the Saw movies.

I've read the Wikipedia articles on the Saw trillogy and, even though it seems to be one of the goriest trillogies in history, something keeps drawing me to them.

Now, the goriest movie I've seen to date is Land of the Dead, so my question is; are the Saw movies more gory, and what are the chances that if I did go see Saw III, I would wish I hadn't after the first few minutes?
if you liked saws 1&2, you'll like saw 3. I cant wait to see it myself.
I haven't seen Saw 1 and 2. I was asking if I should; the fact that they involve extreme methods of torture makes me a little uneasy about seeing them.
well, it's true. but it isn't torture when they do those things to themselves. this is all just a test of survival. to get out alive in extreme situations. sure people die, it's nice to see who makes it out.
Why not just watch Faces of Death?

Awful movies.
I don't mind fake violence. but real violence (guy shooting himself in the head and blood pouring out of his mouth like water)
is very disturbing. I can barely hold my stomach watching Jackass: The movie because that is all real bullshit they're doing.

if it's fake, I will have trouble sleeping for a few hours, but I know it isnt real. there is a fairly obvious line to draw between entertainment and innappropriate things that SHOULDNT be entertainment (aside from gun who would have an orgy and mess up another forum page leaving me to clean and store for his convenience).

Awful movies.

Faces of Death series are filled with fakeness all over it apart the constant abuse of animals. The only real ones are in the "Ultimate" version which is complilation of nothing but pseudo documentary of people being killed and maimed (Death and Mayhem part made even me cringe), and in Faces of Death 6 where in Japan they show like ten minutes of a hanged person making the said scenes boring and tedious when the scenes drag on forever and also, these people are already dead and we get absolute no explanation of anything that has happened. Also the narattors suck apart from the guy of Faces of Death 1 who was perfect. I still think the first part is the best because it actually has a point, message, and a plot and not just senseless shocking image after another. If one wants pure shock value, they should instead go watch August Underground. (Warning; Don't watch that movie unless you have very, very strong stomach)

I've yet to see Saw 3 but I really liked the first two. I however don't suggest starting with 3 at least if this one continues the storyline of the other two.

As for your original question; Saw trilogy is easily more gory than Land of the Dead because in here the violence is more realistic and not overused. Sure, movie like Riki-oh has people's heads explode from punches and guts splatter everywhere but it's so over the top you can't take it seriously.
I never watched saw before- but I'm planning on getting it on original DVD!! Flying blood and guts make me wanna have sex!
Its funny cause both SAW 1 and Final Destination movies, when I was at the theater I was laughing my ass off at the hillarity of the deaths. People moved away and it was like Hurray for more leg space. If I go see it, I hope its with one of my friends....
Now I REALLY wanna see it!
