I just found out on IGN that PS3 will come in two versions (just like Xbox 360) except that there will be $500 and $600 versions...dear god! I thought the 360 was steep at $400 because once you get one or two next gen games ($60 each!) your pushing $620 on the cheap version of PS3.

Sony's so called next gen system is ripping off of the 360, using a copycat Live for online and selling two versions of their system(granted marketing is fair game, I remember Sony execs claiming how stupid releasing two systems was), except their "cheap" version is a total strip down of the system and starts in at $500! So you want a good system? $600.
Not only that but they ripped off of Nintendo's controller idea for the Wii. Their new controller now reacts to on screen action through motion. I just now read more details on the controller and its not a cool sounding at the Wii's, basically its a very stripped down limited version of it in my opinion...they basically changed it enough to cover their asses from a copy cat lawsuit.
They claimed that they were bringing in the Next Gen, I'm not a PS fan but I listened, I'm a gamer. Now they just shattered the little respect I had for them.

as a long time ps owner, and hater of the gamecube and dreamcast and whats taht other system xbox.. never played either of those systems.. but ps3 i will buy .. eventually.. but i really can't afford the price they are asking.. They keep saying.. oh it'll have a hard drive.. oh wait it'll be optional... now i hear its included again.. I hate the wireless controllers and you can't as far as i know have a wired controller with it so i'm really bummed.. my experience with ps2 wireless RF controllers hasn't been good.. i love that they are finally RF instead of point and aim infared but alot of times you have to keep playing with teh adapter on the controller port to get it to recognize the controller .. i also hate the wing design to the controllers.. whats wrong with keeping the standard ps controller shape? I wont pay anything more then 275 for it.. hopefully 250 when it comes down..
I"m pretty sure the mem cards will be 30 or more.. at the rate they were charging for ps2 mems compared to ps1...
even if i won a ps3 and i get one of the very first ones off the line.. i'd refuse it because ps2 had way too many issues when it first came out.. controller ports burning up, power supplys smoking.. ect.. ect.. i'd wait at least 4months till after it came out to buy one if i had the money for that reason..
i got a stack of ps2 games i'd gladly replay before i can afford the ps3.. Hopefully the do still use blue ray discs. They store 10x more then a dvd .. come on.. that'll be great for movies and pc data storage once that fully catches on.. i could back up my 200 gig hd easy that way.. can't wait for the 1terabyte hdd's get cheap :) lol

Yes you can make it wired it has a USB wire to make it a wired controller. None of the new systems have packaged RF controllers, technology has come quite a way and Sony will be using BluTooth. I've had my 360 since launch and haven't had one controller problem and thats wireless too.

Yeah, you're the kind of person they can count on to buy the system, especially if you haven't even given the others a try. But that being said you also can't really afford it, which is my main thing. It's $600! Even if you get the expensive 360 $400 and a Nintendo Wii (rumored at $150-$200) you could get both for the same price!

So I guess PS3 and 360 are in a who's is bigger contest while nintendo is perfectly happy with their Wiis.

hey dont call me stupid because i just havcen't played on the other systems.. thats a quick judgement.. there honestly hasn't been one title to make me play on either of them.. the closet i came to playing a gamecube was that pickmon game i just don't like the game titles they offer
i am still half considering saving for a gamecube for the new legend of zelda game that is coming out this year and the zoids titles.. but i'm unsure about it
Those prices are fucking insane! I bought the 360 system and like it and unless the PS3 has much better games then the 360 will then I will surely not buy it. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are in the middle of a feud trying to win over customers but which working family could possibly cough up such dough for the holiday season for their kids? Its just plain wrong.
it wont be for one season, you'll be told well you won't get any bday and seaonal presents for about 2-3 years lol..

Well I may have put you are instead of that sounds so I apoligize for that. But you should have said you don't find any of the other games interesting. That's a good answer.
Haha i wish they had a video so you could watch of the net where it was an asain represenative of nintendo and sony, the sony guy took out this hulky ps3 controller and the controller clicked out a little dagger thing. The nintendo took out a wii controller and it became a light saber xD. Now a Bill Gates looking guy comes in with a spear with two xbox's on both sides completely spiked... so nintendo guy calls in link and mario. Sony gets snake and some one else.. i dont rember. Bill gates calls that halo guy.. master chief i think eh whatever, and they all fight, i thought it was completely funnyxD... yeah i rambled sorry about that.
I think i might get the Wii, everything else is still iffy to me, ill wait a year from now... or maybe less till i actually buy one x.x
This is the second mistake sony has made, the first giving microsoft a year to get ahead in the nextgen consoles. I probably won't buy one for a while because the 500 one is pretty much useless and would cost more to upgrade than just buy the 600 dollar one. I'll just stick with what i can afford
