As you know, for the first time I've been doing paid work, and it was fine. I worked like a horse, but since it was short time it kept me in shape. I had lots of patients, on my own (about 6 every half hour) but I was able to handle them all.
Then, something strange happened.
Last Thursday, I got in and found lots of patients already inside. One of the physios from the afternoon turn had come an hour earlier than me (I work from 9 to 14). I greeted the guy and asked if he was staying. He said he was. Now, this guy's a total mess, he messes up the files and has no order at all, plus he handles everything in a very different way than mine. I call the patients every half hour, this guy calls them whenever they arrive. I place the files on the doors, this guy just tosses them everywhere. In the middle, I asked him to place the files in the doors so I wouldn't have to rummage through the place everytime to see if the people were outside or inside. But the secretary hadn't given any extra turns, so we did half the work each. I worked half but I was stressed the double.

Saturday afternoon. Phone call. My mother 'Asking for the PHYSIOTHERAPIST Maris
Wow Zephyr that is pretty harsh shit and I could relate with your job....but your paying write is NUTS....

Quote:I really have not much to lose... (so far I'm gonna get paid only 360 pesos (120 dollars) for the 40 hours of work I've done..) but my pride feels kinda hurt.....I mean, to keep a job do I have to accomodate to what both my bosses and senpai seem fit?

In 40 ours of work I used to get paid something similar 6/hr and afrter uncle sam took my green it comes out to be a littly over 200 dollars....

I HATED MY JOB and every minute hanging my body was a thought but your situation transcends anything and that really is a shame because I believe you as someone that is kind and personable and gives two shit and to be taken advantage of in anyway is a crime.....

I mean the fact that they are trying to make a mockery of your hard work and double your stress is enough for any soul to leave the job....

I don't know you Zeph for too long and if you really got a problem and if its not going to make you happy quit.... You really have nothing to lose except the burden of Fuck-you-for-being-asshole deaad weight and a smile to gain...

If you need the money that is cool to but find somewhere else where they could treat you like a human being, made of flesh, blood, and emotions....

Stress you don't need right now and it looks as if they are trying to set you up for a big fall and you do not need to be manipulated....

Look at where I worked (on another rant thread) it is very similar and I hate to see the same shit happen....

Zephyr, do what you gotta do but someone like you shouldn't come home hating the work you do because of some selective assholes....Your just as important and probably to nice to deserve it...

Breathe deep and relax if possible and don't let stress at this place of work and live......Live happily ever after if possible....If you ever need any help or vent you could pm me and whatever but at least you'll have one in your corner...

Concerned friend.....

Line up a job at another hospital first, and then quit. That way, you're perfectly secure. The problem you have is that if they plan to fire you, it will look bad on your r
Yeah the one thing I hate most about jobs is that the hardest workers often get the same respect and pay as the people that do nothing.

It's just a matter of getting the right boss.
Yeah my mom always complains about the bad black people(meaning the ones you could call the N word) doing nothing at her work while she does a lot. I guess a lot of bosses are stupid and you just have to get the right ones.
I think the reason they don't get fired is because all stores need a certain amount of minority workers, so they have pretty good job security.

All the black people I've worked with have worked just as hard as the white people, if not, more so. As I understand it, everybody's a little lazier in the South. Perhaps, Unknown, your mom considers herself to be an exception.

It's funny, because even by those rules which gets people jobs, you're STILL descriminating. Hell, holding the door open for a person in a wheelchair when you wouldn't for other people is descrimination. It's just that some descrimination society is ok with, and some kinds it's not.

Personally, I think it's bullshit. Getting a job should ALWAYS be based around your credentials and experience, it shouldn't matter what your gender, race, creed, or anything else are. But if if gets out that a business hired 15 white men when there were several people of other ethnicities in the pool, everyone would freak the fuck out about it, even if all these other people weren't as qualified as the people who were actually hired.

This world is so broken in so many ways, I have no idea if we even have what it takes to fix it.

Actually, yeah. She works hard. She does eveything around the house (I do help out) But that's what she says and that's all I know. I don't know if it's true or not.
OK, I went today, and so far nothing happened. No more patients, but they haven't told me anything either. So I have no clue of what's going on.

I don't know if you know, but I'm Argentine. Here you can't earn much more than that. My 'beloved' colleague works in a famous center for heart diseases where he does specialized work (or so he says) and makes 20 pesos (6,6 dollars) an hour. But he has way more responsibility than me. I do know that in most places most of my colleagues earn pretty much like me, sometimes even less. The only way you can make more is having an own consulting room.

To be honest, I don't know what's going on anymore....

Actually, most places are like that, unless you work on your own.

Thank you so much, but it's not as bad as it looks. So far, I'm here out of my own decision. I do a lot of physical work and it's only a little time, so it's not so bad. Like I said in another thread, it's like going to a gym but being paid. Besides, I've kinda balanced the less work I do with the stress and let him handle most of the patients. And he's graduated so he tells me about the questions they've asked in the tests I have to take (yeah, he's a total mess but not such a bad guy).
