8 of these are the top grossing vid's of 2005 (according to IMDB), but i also replaced Hitch & Charlie & The Chocolate Factory With:

-The 40 Year Old Virgin ('cuz it was a totally unappreciated comedy!)
-Emily Rose, (it had a creepy storyline with good visual effects and an insightful conclusion, and i think it kicked Hitch's ASS!)

-in my opinion, revenge of the sith will wrap this competition in a nutshell, so i put it @ the top for convenience :P ,but what the hell! let's watch...
Star wars was great (especially after 1&2) but I had to vote batman because I am a huge fan and it was a good movie (not a total bomb like alot of them have been) and they finally showed a more indepth origin for him.
I liked Narnia, Harry Potter, Mr & Mrs Smith, 40 year old virgin, and Emily Rose.
but batman and starwars... I like em too.

I like narnia cuz of the talking animals. especially the wolves and the lion himself- the griffins were good too! -not to mention the fox, the tgers, the cheetas and the horses! ack! beast and furry fan's dream!
Ya, Narnia wuz great! I think they could have made a bit of a better choice on the queen tho: she was a way bigger bitch in the book than in the movie (as i can remember; i read that book about 8 years ago). The visual effects of the movie kicked ass.

Harry potter was also pretty good, but supposedly it's a lot better if you haven't read the book- like me, (i heard they butcher it and leave out HUGE portions).

I Haven't seen batman yet, but i've only heard good things!
Episode III was absolutely brilliant! It's just a shame that most people didn't get the subtle pieces of foreshadowing in the dialogue.

same here, and yeah- they DID. it was dissapointing to see a good part cut out- they even removed a bunch of characters, and changed a couple of names.
I think Keeping Mum is best.

I can already hear your cries of "What the devil is that?"

A priest in a little village has become totally boring over the last twenty years, and is completly oblivious to the problems in his family. His daughter is sleeping with every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the village, his son of eleven is being bullied at school, and his wife is feeling sexualy rejected, and tired due to next door's dog continually barking at night.

But one day, they get a new housekeeper. Suddenly, the family's problems dissappear, along with next door's dog, the brakes on the bully's bikes, the next door neighbour (who caught her burying his dog)...

It was a fantastic film, filled with black comedy, warped traditional values, eccentricity, and quaint village church life. It also had a very happy ending.

And no, I haven't given any plot away. If you get the chance, have a watch of this. It's got Rowain Atkinson (Johnny English, Mr Bean, Rat Race, Love Actualy, others...) in it.
Star wars three isn't that bad if you watch it before movies 4, 5, and 6.
Hmm... Mum definetely doesn't ring a bell, but it sounds like a great movie, full of authenticity. nice to see Rowan Atkinson is still somewhere out there making movies too, he kinda disappeared off the face of the earth for a while. :D

Another couple supposedly good movies out there were:
-Saw II- Haven't seen it yet, 'cuz i'm still throwing up from the first one. (honestly, who wants to see a guy cut off his own leg?)
-Four Brothers- It totally kicked ass, was a good story of vengeance. but it didn't come out of theaters until a couple weeks ago up here, so i didn't think many people would've seen it. I was also forced to leave out Dukes of Hazzard and European Gigolo (both had their moments, but European Gigolo had the exact same Happy Madison humour as #1, so I found it just repetitive.

And why not, here are a few ratings for some new releases @ http://entertainment.sympatico.msn.ca/movies/reviews/index.armx?sc=&sd=&Page=1 if you haven't seen them yet.
Aeonflux- 1.5 Stars out of Five
Grandma's Boy-1.5 Stars out of Four (different critic, basically said it sucked ass lol )
Fun With Dick & Jane- 2 Stars out of Five
Herbie Fully Loaded- 3.5 Stars out of Five (Can That Be Right?)
Brokeback Mountain- 3.5 Stars out of Five
King Kong- 4 Stars out of Five

Oh, and not one movie rated at MSN got 5 stars; come on! i was hoping dick & jane would get a better rating, but what can you do? :(
