First off I love animeshon - er, Japanimation if you will since the word means "animation" and I find it redundent to use the word a bit - and I have a whole stack of Japanese animation in my DVD collection and once in a while I sit down (faithfully) to watch whatever comes on TV. But of course I have other tastes too, such as animation from the states and *GASP* other countries too (I still miss Cybersix, hooked after the werewolve episode and Fox takes it off). As a devoted watcher of all things animated I have my own favorites, like the original Batman: TAS that ran during the '90s and Batman Beyond along with Spiderman (even the unlimited series) and as I am writing this I am waiting for Xiaolin Showdown to come on and waiting for the new Powerpuff Girls Z to come in November.

What am I getting at? Simple.

JAPANESE ANIMATION IS NOT THE END BE ALL OF EVERYTHING INKED!

As much as it pains me I am swamped by many so called "fans" yelling at me about Shaman King this and Sailor Moon that and saying they were here since the beginning, well I like those shows but I still love my Digimon (and Monster Rancher, Pixie ^n\./n^) and I like these new shows that have potental like the Winx Club (yes, it is a magical girl show, but it is like sailor moon I have to wade through the crappy second season to the kick ass third season) and the object of my new obestion(SP?) Xiaolin Showdown, and while I did once love the other shows "fans" kind of killed them for me. I do not know where does these guess get the idea that "anime" is the greatest thing ever made but it is not, okay maybe but only the good stuff (clutches his copy of Ninja Scroll). Even in Japan they have dubbed shows of OUR stuff, which I am despertly searching for a copy of a dubbed Japanese Tiny Toons Adventure  .

I watched the small documentory of "anime" on the animatrix and they were talking about how this stuff like Akira and such and such was shown in small groups of collage kids that bootlegged it from Chinatown, or such and such, and I remember how I would sit down in front of the TV watching Sci-Fi channel's Saturday Anime and waiting for my favorites, Lily C.A.T., Tank Police and Eightman After which made me think that these "fans" are just some sort of leeches that goes with the tide. If it is "in" they lach on and ruin it for the rest of us then leave when it is "out", never truly experincing anything.

Now if you excuse me, I have a Katnappe/Kimiko fic to write... After Batman and Transformers.

[STATUS: Still searching for a copy of Demon City Shinjuku and a life size Miyako doll.]
You like the winx club? Why? I know only one person here that likes it and she could probally be insane.
So that fic might be interesting, I might reed it when you get done.
A life size yolei doll? I'm not going to ask about that. :)
I would agree that some of the best cartoons were American or Canadian. My personal favorite will always be The Real Ghostbusters, which was drawn like an anime, but written with unmatched lovability and brilliance.
Spiderman, O how I miss thee!

Unlimited was OK, but the original ruled. Unfortunately, they didn't want to drag out the storylines like they do with the comic books and ended the series after Carnage tried to destroy everything with a cross-dimensional bomb.

Oh, and by the way, a life size Yolei/Miyako doll (going by the series) would be roughly made to look like a 6th grader. So I doubt there's really anything that perverted about one.

No, it's not perverted until you start doing stuff with it. Wink
I'm a bit tired of most of the cartoons these days. Xiaolin Showdown is still good, but I feel like most are edited anime from japan. Then again they are propably the only ones who can feasably fufill my intrests in action...

I remember a few of those episodes from my childhood, a personal favorite was when the guys were "infected" by a ghost and had to stay at the hospital. My memory is a little foggy but I do recall that in the end they pull the "what do you know, your bill is the same amount as my bill" routine. :P

As for the fic, I am hoping to swing it towards something horror-ish as I am currently reading Skyhigh Karma.

I have weird insperation moments.

Ok, THAT'S sick. I mean, most of us do imagine the kids as older than they were in the series when we read those stories, right? Or am I the only one with the marvelous ability to avoid thinking about something I view as immoral?
No it's just you said life size yolei doll that's the weird part.

The episode was called "Doctor, Doctor," and I have it on my computer. :)
