FCC Chief Powell Opposes Extending Indecency Rules to Cable

Outgoing FCC Chairman Michael Powell said Thursday that he does not support Congressional efforts to extend broadcast indecency rules to cable and satellite networks. Appearing on Fox News Channel, Powell said, "When the Congress takes a hard look at this, if they really study the constitutionality, [they will conclude] that it's difficult and unwise to extend it." Earlier this week, Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, who heads the Senate Commerce Committee and his opposite in the House, Congressman Joe Baron, said that they would introduce a measure to bring cable and satellite under the indecency rules.

Bull, that's why people get cable because they can see more then what bormal tv allows. That's one reason why you have to pay for it.
