Full Version: July 2004 Contest

The requirements for this contest are simple: Write a 5-10 page (single-spaced) lemon using any couple or couples that you want. Any type of story, any type of sex, any season. The rules are as follows:

(1) The story must be a Lemon (sex scene required) of no less than 5 and no more than 10 pages. I will let slide upward of this limit slightly, but if I feel you're pushing it, that will detract from the score.

(2) No Bashing PERIOD. This rule can safely be held to apply to every one of my contests. If any character is bashed, the fic will be disqualified.

(3) Write to your own tastes. This is not a rule, but a piece of advice -- you will do best in this contest if you write about something that you enjoy. Don't force yourself to write a darkfic if you've never done a bad ending in your life.

Scoring:

There will be a chance of TWO high scorers in this contest -- one for story overall, and one for the sex scene. As such, there will be two different scores: Overall, which reflects every part of the story, including the sex scene, and Lemon, which reflects on only the sex scene. The winner will be able to choose a pairing for me to write a story about, in addition to be mentioned as winner of the contest.

E-mail all submissions to sirjasonk [AT] hotpop [dot] com (clear up the spamproofing to make it work) on or before July 20.
Hey, Can we use an old story or must it be a new one? I do have one I just wrote, but submitted it too late for posting it this week. Sent it on the 4th actually. I guess my questionis is this one good enough or will I have to write another?

Well... if you can ask Chibi Renamon to hold off on posting it until the contest results come in, I'm open to it... otherwise it does have to be an unpublished fic.
I can hold it back if you'd like to use it for the contest...

Thanx Chibi! :) Just for a little while! You can post it if I don't win! But it's a really good story, and I think it stands a chance!

SOrry, I've been busy all week...

I guess this means your story is clear to go, man, so go for it!
Well, it seems we just keep getting people who win by default -- being the only one who enters a contest. I don't think I need to specify this, but Saber Gatomon is the winner, by default. I'll post two scores by the end of this month, the official contest score and my personal Hunter Scale score of his story... what does it have? Well, maybe you'll know if you wait until then.

Chibi Renamon, you may publish the story for him now. In the future, all of my contests will be bigger things--like the Summer Contest--since these smaller contests don't seem to draw much interest. I will still be willing to post monthly writing challenges, but they won't be the same as the contests. I think it's a fair trade-off, though, and I do think giving credit to all the entrants is a smart move. Everyone who wrote for the Summer Contest, good luck once the entries start (Sunday August 1, only nine days!) coming in.
YEAH FOR ME!!!!
I'd first like to thank Karabinger for the excellent pic that inspired this story! It is rather anti-climactic to win by default, but a win is a win! :D

Where's the SCORES??!!

While I was the only one to enter the contest, I'd really like to know how it rated. It'll help me as I write other stories in the future, using the scores as a guideline to write better! :D Thanx in advance.
