Shitty dubs are all fine and...well, not fine. But I moreso can't stand the rabit fans who denounce and attack the dubbers like they have some jihad.

Years ago when I was heavily into DBZ, pretty much the entire internet community denounced the dub because of the violence censorship and the voices.
Then everyone would tell me what an absolute masterpeice the original version was: Perfect voices, perfect music, actual blood...so when I finally got my hands on a sub, my reactions were:

"What the fuck is with the music? It sounds like nursery rhymes."

"Oh, blood. Woowee."

"Why the hell does he keep sneezing eveytime someone talks about him behind his back?" (Well, I had this question in the dub, too, and I still had no idea what the hell it meant.)

"Wait...that's Goku and Gohan's original voices??! WHAT THE SHIT?!?!"

Since then, I stopped putitng os much credence in those who claim the original is always the best. I clung to the dub like it was my holy cross to repel those looney bins.

Yeah, sometimes things like that happen... lol...

well I don't say the original always choosed the best voices. Coz often enough the original voices creeped me out too.

But what I cannot deal with is, when the dubbers changes genders (like Renamon or Lucemon in the German version) or the dubs makes just no fucking sense.

Other worse things are, when they switch voices during the dub. For me, the character is not the same anymore.

indeed I have to agree with the falldown mode, but still it was creepy. Well and we have the only Tamers series with Renomon as a part of it, and not Renamon. lol

Yeah, gender rapers!!! They change genders and screw everything up.. :x

They did that in Sailor Moon too: Two of the villains were male homosexuals in love, so the dubbers made one of them a girl. (Which, if no one had lold me, I would have never guessed, given that he/she was pretty damn effeminate-looking with or without a male voice.)

I don't think that had so much to do with homophobia on the dubbers' part, though. I think it was just that they wanted to avoid the firestorm of controversy that they might have received if they had left it as is.

yeah, it's a big controversy in the states right now.. fighting for gay rights..
