milk me!

From reading posts here and there, it looks like more than a few of you are into Teen Titans. Never bothered with it myself until today. Wow! What a sweet show! I've been looking for something to fill the void left by Digimon (as I can't watch it without cable in my apartment) and I think I might have found it.

I was a bit hesitent to get into it at first, because the style reminded me too much of other cartoons I didn't like (namely the last couple incarnations of the Batman series), but actually tuning in and watching for a few inutes changed my mind instantly. The characters are far more expressive than Bruce Wayne or his Dick ever were, and the plots are really interesting and look like they could get really immersive over time. Plus the animators weren't afraid to draw actual chests on any of the girls (always a plus) and I actually somehow found that Beast Boy to be kinda cute (despite the fact that, to the best of my limited knowledge thus far, he's kind of a freak and stuff).

Other fans here? I know you've been drawing fanart and posting it in the artists section, but discuss the show or say why you like it now. Also, I caught a commercial on Cartoon Network while away the other day for the upcoming second season of it. Will Kids WB still be showing season 1? I want to get a good handle on the plot before watching much more, if possible
Isnt it a glorious show? :D It's certainly opened the door for more yaoi/hentai opportunities, in my opinion.

While I never realy was much of a DC Comics fan prior to the show's premiere, it's helped me appreciate the company even more. I even put together a yaoi/yuri mailing list for it!

Also, the comic book version of the title is awesome. There's a few instances where I dont like it, though, but it makes up for it. You'll also find there's more team members in the actual DC COmic than the cartoon, but thats okay as well. As long as we get teh Beastlie Boy >:3

Yeah, I really love it. Mind you, I've never been into traditional superhero comics (Batman, Superman, Spiderman, etc.) or any number of their spinoffs. That goes for print and animated versions (the most recent animated versions of Justice League and X-Men didn't do anything for me). But this... this is different. Great drama and cool characters that I actually care about. And yeah, it looks like the kind of thing that could blow up huge in the general fanfiction/fanart community... maybe ever get as big as Digimon did, if it's getting the right exposure.

Here's hoping that season 1 will find its way to DVD sometime in the next year. That's a naieve wish, as I really don't know what they've got completed or planned from here on out, but I would really love to immerse myself in this series.
I don't like Teen Titans too much.

I prefered Batman Beyond and X-Men Evolution.
it's not bad
Hrrm. Teen Titans is indeed a good show. A few things do disappoint me.
1. Other than those bats and Robin's single line in that episode. (I won't say anything, don't wanna ruin anything for those who have not seen it yet.) There has been no mention of Batman, who is basically Robin's mentor to a point. 2. There is minimal if no interaction between the Titans and the city they protect. It's just the Titans and the bad guys. It is as if the city has no idea what is going on, makes it seem like a ghost town to me.
Those are my beefs with it, otherwise, it does the job wuite well of being humourous and having a fairly good plot and character development. Well sticking with the DC Comics theme in this topic. Batman Beyond wasn't half bad. What ever happened to its spinoff, The Zeta Project, that show had its good parts but it wasn't great. Justice League isn't bad either, well especially of late, episodes have been more centered on Earth rather than them fighting in either a) another dimension or b) another planet. Ok, it isn't DC Comics, it is Marvel, but it got mentioned in here somewhere. X-Men: Evolution is not half bad either, but it isn't the original X-Men sadly. By the way, anybody know if they are gonna bother with bringing out DVDs of each season of the original series? Evolution is alright, I find the drawings are not the greatest and the plot takes its sweet time moving before they shove you full of MAJOR developments in all of 3 episodes, then end the season and leave you drooling for more, but you don't get more until the end of the next season( to get to the end of that season, you've got to wait a little, by the time they air it, and finally get to there, it's been a few months) where they shove another 3 episodes of MAJOR development down your throat, and it seems like they are gonna repeat the process until they decide to stop. Another question, does anybody know when they are gonna decide to bring out DVDs of the seasons of the 1992 Batman series, now that was a good series and apparently it won an Emmy! I remember watching that as a kid, how I love Batman, so dark, so mysterious, so scary to the villains, that's his special ability. Actually the last episode of Justice League I watched, the one with that guy who gives himself psychic abilities to go into peoples dreams and mess with their mind, now that was a frickin' amazing episodes. Best part: when Batman hums the song in his head to keep him out and then kicks the guy's ass. Ohh sweetness, it was such a devious ploy. Ok please forgive me for that endless blabber, I've got exams in two days, I need to relieve myself of some pressure and it all came out on this post. Stupid exams.

Actually, the show's creators addressed this in a recent issue of Wizard magazine. They have no plans to involve Batman in "Teen Titans", because they want the show to be about the Titans, and don't want to detract from that by featuring Batman.

Heh. Obviously, you haven't read "Sandman: Preludes and Nocturnes". In that one, a truly decrepit and corpse-like John Dee has been locked up in Arkham, long deprived of his psychic powers. He gets ahold of a new power source, and then escapes and proceeds to do some seriously fucked-up stuff.

As for my opinion on "Teen Titans", well...

1) I like the designs for Raven, Terra, and Starfire. Beast Boy looks and acts too young to be a teen, though.

2) So far, most of the villains have been crap. The real low point was Soto the stonehead. But then, DC Comics is famous for having some of the lamest villains ever created. The only really cool villain so far has been Slade.

3) The humor needs some improvement. The writers seem to think that the whole "Starfire is ignorant of Earthly customs" thing is a source for an infinite number of jokes. It's not.

Overall, I think the show needs to grow up a bit. Maybe the writers could introduce more heroes, maybe using some of the lesser-known DC superteens (like the Spoiler, Arrowette, or the Star-Spangled Kid). Or perhaps they could have some serious episodes. The kids are supposed to be teenagers. It's not all easygoing stuff.
