WTF?! It might be setting lows in places, but it's also setting highs in others. There's both extremely bad and extremely good writing in this place. The story they chose to MST is one by Sonimon, and while I'm not his biggest fan ever, he's certainly not one of the bad authors here (or at the DHZ for that matter).

Also, that MST isn't even very good. Really funny MSTs point out a story's actual faults and make jokes of them, but since this story doesn't have any major weaknesses apart from a slight lack of plot, the humor in this article seems to consist mainly of inserting pointless fake dialogue and random movie quotes into it. Ha ha. Very amusing. I suppose they could've made it funny with another fic, but they obviously couldn't be bothered to look around for one that was really bad. They probably just picked on the first one they looked at.

Just ignore 'em. Not everybody's gonna like what we do here, we just gotta accept that. However, they will be encouraged to do stuff like this if they think it'll drive us nuts.

It's so much easier to make fun of something than to go out and try to make something yourself. What people don't realize is that just making fun of things isn't really that funny, and unless you really have something to say about it, you're just wasting everyone's time.

I've never thought that "MST3K-ing" other people's fanfics was that funny. It's kind of interesting to see just how far people will go from the real thing (an imitation of a parody of an imitation -- it doesn't get much more postmodern than that), but all in all it's not funny, and really doesn't make me care.

Actually I have seen one MST that was pretty damned funny on Fanfiction.net when it still allowed NC-17 fics. Nearly pissed my pants funny. It was making fun of a MegaMan porn fic WITH THE AUTHORS PERMISSION and I just remember laughing oh so hard.

A few parts in this one brought a smile to my face, but most of it was ill-thought out slander which no self-respecting reader would find actually funny. I mean if you are going to make fun of a fic, get the authors permission and make it so whoever you are "attacking" will actually hate you for making them laugh. I mean that is how I would do it, that way the person cannot be justified with being angry at you when they themselves enjoyed it.

I've nothing against MSTs in general. I know some good ones that have made me laugh for hours... But this one just wasn't very well-written and therefore not very funny.

Not that I could do much better, I suppose...

I think the person who talk bad about something should try it themself and make it better.

Bitching against others is really easy but showing them to be better is another part of the story...

Being a MST 3000 fan, I'm laughing my ass off.
Being a DaD fan, I'm STILL laughing my ass off cause I know they could have had a fucking hayday with some of the fanfics I've read elsewhere.
