I had a field trip for a class today and we ended up at the Mall for lunch, well I had brought $10 to get the TokyoPop Digimon Manga Volume 4, but I also had extra money on me, and some how (in a blind buying fury) bought Digimon Volume 5 and DOT hack Volume 1. I spent $30 as opposed to $10! I had to! I swear, I would have died without them...GARRRR! I'm so weak! Have any of you done this before?
Yup. I live in a town with no comic book store, so every time I get near a comic shop, I end up buying lots of comics at once, especially Marvel, since they no longer reprint sold-out issues.
I've been in situations like this before. Remember, the hardest part is walking away. Just force yourself to to that one little bit, and the rest is peanuts.
Well, I went into shops and ended up buying more than I wanted to before, but it's never happened to me with comics or mangas. That's because there is a very extensive comic shop in my town, so I can go get new stuff whenever I want to (and happen to have money).

milk me!

I do this all the time, only with CDs. The only real defense against it is being careful not to carry too much cash with you whenever you know you're going to be putting yourself in that situation. But if you have a credit or check card, that doesn't work.

Just walk away... if you can.
I have that same problem... but only when I don't have any income, which really drains me. I never buy too much when I have money coming in, but the minute it stops I can't help myself, I spend twice as much without income as I do with income, honestly.

I've learned that the point comes where you have to say no, and hard as it might be, it will help your view of yourself to be able to say "No" to buying more than you planned or can actually afford. My confidence has risen tenfold since I reached... oh, wait, I have a job. Still, it will improve your self-image to know that you can refuse what you want when you don't need it, or hadn't planned for it, or simply can't afford to get it...

Anyway, I guess the whole point I'm trying to make here is: I HATE SAUERKRAUT!
