Ok, anyone else here think these are just the best movies ever? I mean now a day all movies are shallow and weak in the plot area just to show off visuals. Matrix is a deep intriguing series the mixes action and a really deep plot to make one kickin movie! I mean there are hundreds of people making theories of what is going to happen for the 3rd and final movie.
Plus think about how Digimon could relate to it! Kids getting into the Matrix (IE a Digital World) and saving it with monster programs! How cool would that be...
I guess they're interesting and all. I've only seen the first one. Downloading the second right now, though I've heard very bad things about it. The plot is okay - regular action kinda things. The first one was based pretty heavily on Plato's allegory of the cave, which is so old and prominent that you can't make a story out of it without expecting it to be pretty good.
I dunno, I shouldn't really be talking about the movies, considering I've only seen one of the three.
The first movie was awesome. It's right up there with sci-fi classics like "Blade Runner" and "Ghost in the Shell". The second one, though, wasn't as good. The big problem is that the Wachowskis took their ideas and starting turning them into beliefs, and they took their hero and they're turning him into a friggin' messiah.
Of course, I suppose the second movie's flawed mainly because it was designed to be followed up, whereas the first movie was fairly self-contained.
Like the first Star Wars movies, The Matrix was a sleeper hit when it first came out. Everyone was all like "WOAH! Where the fuck did THIS come from?!"
...and, like Star Wars, I get the feeling the enormous success and critical acclaim of the first is hurting the other films. The hype, the tie ins, the consumerism (That idiotic idea to make in important plot points of the movie that could be a classic available only in a fucking video game that will be forgotten in about two years.), and that dumb Animatrix thing.
Relaoded wasn't neccisarily bad, it just showed signs that the franchise might be headed in the wrong direction.
...oh, and the overuse of slow-motion/bullet-time pisses me off.
I've actually never seen any of the star wars movies. For some reason, people get mad at me when I say I don't even want to.
I really hated the secound one. Just voicing that makes tons of people pissed at me :shock: I have a very bad memory so i cant really remember what i hated it about

A lot of people didn't like the second movie because it WAS real belief filled, also because they didn't appreciate the depth. It is still my belief that this is the best movie series ever! :D
