why is hentai so popular with artists?
is it fun for art, or a sexual image experience?

Mix of both, We as humans can't deny human instinct of being attracted to sex, even if it is animated, and hell, if it's classily animated, then your killing two birds with one stone here lol...So yeah, for the sake of it I'm going for a mix of both worlds, looks good in the end.
Well, Im not into the sexual viewing stuff just yet, but I guess seeing some of the people out there, I'd have to agree with DF.
Im here for art, and to learn something ^^ I like to see different styles, and the things people do to their pics to make em look better or more interesting. I love almost every kind of picture or art, as long as it has that true essence of work put into it (okay, that sounded so retarded ><; )
I want to improve my skills, and usually like to study other people to help. No, I dont steal their shading styles or ways of making eyes, but get to know the artist and how they think, their goals in life, and their intentions. That is what art is all about to me... the type of thing you draw reflects on your real life self. But Im 12, what crap do I know? o_O;

I'm here for both, :P i can still remember when i came here for the first time i was like, what? 11? (bad memory) and popped in first in MirC commenting ppl who had lemons, or art on their work :P i also worked out my hand alot in this site, :roll: typing alot...... XD
Nah, I get what your saying there Nanashi, I love to check out art from very talented people, unfortunetly sometimes I tend to morph my style into theirs....very often actually lol...just check out my art on my msn group, alot of it is much like Acchan's work...but even still my style has been adapted from another artist I still believe that I put as much if not more skill, time and heart into my work...
And yes, even though some artwork may be the most biggest tentacle pic with like junk flying all over the place...if it's of a high quality pic I'm just like "holy shit, this guys a good artist" lol, honest to god.
Even Acchans style was adapted from another artist. That Bernell person from sexy fur.
I'm here because I wanted to train myself in writing, so I got writing fics for the place, and I just got really good at it. So now I do all kinds of fiction. And then I wanted to be useful to artists so I learned how to color. Then I got so good at that even Togashi was asking me to work on stuff.
I havent done much of either writing or coloring lately, I stay here because, well, I wouldn't leave it even if I could. :P
Yeah I know, but I mainly copied off of Acchan cause he was here all the time, and did wicked Antylamon art.
And yes, outlaw hit the nail on the head there, once you come here...you never ever leave lol...well with the exception of a few people but it's all good lol.
