Sure has been ages...how is everyone? formerly fred_18.
Hey. Fine I think. Nice to see you again.
It sure seems slow...Is anyone still active?
Check RPs. But yeah. I'm always popping in for some reason. Others show up sometimes.

Even me. :<

Been thinking lately of how, or if, this place can be revived.... I have a lot more know-how now than I did when I first joined. I could do a serious revamp on the main site....

But that would take hours of work (I don't even have the FTP logins anymore), and though I'm sure I could get it done (or at least mostly done) over Christmas break... would it be worth doing? I cringe to say it (and I take responsibility for some of it) but these forums are pretty much dead, and I mean... Digimon isn't even a big thing anymore, and while we could open it up to include other things, we'd then be on the same spectrum as FA, DA, IB, SF, Weasyl, and even Y!

I don't know. Thoughts?
The show is still on, But I'm not sure what Nick wants to do with it.
And I'm not sure what to do with this site really.
I always pop up to keep the forums clean. We lost dozens of regulars to that period when the site became malignant to browsers because of an attack; Lord Patamon took care of it, but I doubt anybody's checked in due to its small amount of traffic from before it. Must have assumed this site died.

I've a gazillion stories I could post by now, but the main reason I don't is because people are too shy to comment, or too lazy to even read. I'm not sure about others, but if they have at least half the content that I do then there's some serious content we can inject the site with.

Must be fair though: Most of it isn't even digimon. Its time has long since passed.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to make a recall, but even then, without the promise of any substantial change to happen, nobody's gonna be moved.

Let's face it though: This forum lasted its ridiculously long time because of the RP section. Even before stories and art happened once every blue moon, and the only one getting good amounts of comments was either SnK or tigerlily when she was around.

The RP section used to be great because it accomodated any and all tastes. But then some people started to move on, others started to lose interest, and then everything came crashing down. Put some people to play there regularly and you'll have casual users looking around the forum, and probably will participate in the regular chat as well.

Begin an active RP anyone can join in, then advertise it everywhere to encourage people to come play. I think that'd be the easier way to start gathering traffic rather than trying to come up with stuff all the aforementioned sites are NOT doing.

The question is, after we get the traffic, how do we hang onto it? If we can hang onto it, how do we give it even more reasons to stay and invite their friends? At that point, we'll need to start thinking on how to disassociate ourselves from other sites. Until we actually have some traffic though, throwing ideas won't get us anywhere.

Also, hi.
Well, DMX is pretty much right. That's about all I can say.
There isn't really a way to. I mean, even if we open it up to more than Digimon, we'll be on the same line as too many other sites and there wouldn't really be anything different that we could offer, except maybe more old Digimon stuff. Some of the artists might not be keen on having their old stuff shown about. I remember talking to Gabumon Bubu a few years ago (his work is here) and he kindly asked me not to reveal who he now is.

If we did still actually want to do something significant and the RP section is really the strength of this site, perhaps we could do something like that. Rebrand, repurpose, pop an ad or two on FA and Y! and keep going. I must admit, my current knowledge is still limited (I'm currently working with Wordpress for my college) and I don't know what all I could do for an RP site, but hey, it's somethin'.

My question is still "is it worth it?" Another is whether or not I would actually claim all the Digimon stories I wrote way back when. A few people tell me they're good, but I find them cringeworthy. I like my current writing a lot better.

Uh, one more question.

Why is this place still even here? Who do we thank for keeping it on the Internet this long?
I've been too afraid to ask. Feels like senjuro fell off the radar years ago, and I haven't been keeping in touch with him either. Maybe they aren't charging the site anymore.
