The PSN has been down for nearly a week now. Sony admitted a couple days ago that this was due to hackers getting into the system, and the PSN was taken down (by Sony) to prevent further damage.

The damage has already been done, however. Sony just announced that the hackers managed to steal massive amounts of personal info from PSN users. This info includes:

Your name

Your address (city, state, and zip)

Country

E-mail address

Birthday

PSN password and login name

They also might have your Credit Card number (minus the security code) and expiration date.

I highly recommend those who have a PSN account contact their Credit Card (or Debit Card) providers and have new ones issues and the old ones canceled ASAP just to be safe.

Yes, a problem just as bad as the Red Ring. At least that only cost you a small amount of money.

On a lighter note,

Lucky for me I'm not on PSN, then. For once, my shitty internet is a good thing.
I heard about this last night....very shocked about it but not nervous as I don't have anything thats made from Sony. But I am worried for my best mate, told him last night and he smashed all of the things that he's got from sony up to pieces as he was angry and disgusted about it :( I feel sorry for him now :/

That... is a little too extreme in my opinion... >.<''

But yeah, I read on it via MSN and earlier today, closed my current bank account and opened a new one just to be safe, though the last thing I bought via my PsP's PSN access was Dissidia 2 a week before the hack... better to be safe after all.
Fortunately, no one has hacked my Sega Genesis, but to you PSN users, you have my sympathy.
A friend of mine found this. http://twitter.com/#!/RetroCollect/statu...0229502976

...My little nephew snuck my sega down to his house. But I have a Wii anyway.
That's a pretty good joke I guess.
Well there are Twitter accounts that aren't useless. Weird Al's is always funny.
Xbox Live wins again I guess :3
