The moon slowly dipped behind a cloud, its reflection slowly fading away from the pound. Tai stirred and resetteled his head on Matt's chest, quickly going back to sleep.

Matt, on the other hand, was wide awake, starring off over the calm lake. His gaze fell across the bank of trees that led back to the camp were everyone else was sound asleep. Matt's thoughts drifted back to what had happened just a few hours ago and a smile lit his face. He had no idea that Tai had felt the same way towards him that Matt had felt towards Tai. After they had had their fun, they had gone to the lake to wash off, but of course they had to drip dry. After they had dried off, they feel asleep for a few ours and here they were.

"Hey, Tai, it;s time to get up. We need to hurry if we're to make it back before everyone else wakes up," Matt said, slightly nudging Tai's head with his hand.

"Huh wha?" Tai said groggily as he rubbed sleep from his eyes.

"I said we need to hurry before everyone wakes up," Matt said.

"Oh, yeah," Tai said, still half asleep.

"You know, your pretty cute when you first wake up," Matt said planting a light kiss on Tai's lips. "Now lets get dressed."

The two quickly redressed and sprinted through the patch of trees, careful not to step on any twigs along the way. After about three minutes of limb dodging, they finally came to the clearing where the rest of the digi-destined were sound asleep. Matt let out a sigh of relief as he realized that nobody had noticed that they were gone.

"See you in the morning Matt," Tai said giving Matt one last long kiss before headding over to his sleeping bag and crawling inside.

Matt smiled and headded over to his on sleeping bed, where dreams of Tai and him soon engulfed him.

-That Morning-

"WAKE UP SLEEPY HEAD!" Sora yelled into Tai's ear.

"AHHHH!! What's going on?!" Tai yelled startled out of his deep sleep by Sora's rude wake up call.

"It's 9:30. Everyone else has already eaten except for you, sleeping beauty," Sora said with a grin, beckoning at the one remaing roasted fish on the spit and they small bowl of fruit left on the picnic blanket. Everyone else was already packing up their gear, preparing to ste off on todays journey. Tai saw that Matt was already packed and was talking to Gabumon and Agumon.

"Man," Tai thought, "even Agumon got up before me.

"Hello, Earth to Tai, your brain's in an unstable orbit. Hello."

"Huh, oh. Sorry Sora, I was just thinking," Tai said.

"Well I bet that hurt," Sora said and then giggled. "Listen, you need to hurry up and eat and then pack up all of your stuff, O.K.?" Sora said.

"Alright," Tai said. The fish was charred but he still nibbled on it while Agumon helped him roll up his sleeping bag. After they finished with the sleeping bag, Tai wulffed down the fruit and the digi-destined set at on the next leg of their trip.

About an hour after they set out, they cleared the forest and a great furtile basin lay before them. Izzy quickly pulled up a map on his laptop.

"Good news guys," Izzy said as he showed them the map, "This basin's will take the hole day to get through, but at the other side is hotel."

"A hotel. With showers and bubble baths and fine cuisine and manicures," Mimi said, pratically jumping up and down with excitement.

"Hold on a minute Mimi," Joe said, once again being the praticle one. "We have no money, remember."

"We'll worry about that when we get there," T.K. said, "Let's just go or we'll never make it."

"T.K.'s right. We'll worry about the financial arrangements later," Tai said.

And with that the digi-destined set off towards the rim of the basin, content to travel onward. At around noon, the destined where about half-way across the basin's plain and making good time when Tai motioned for them to stop.

"It's lunch time everybody!" Tai said.

"Yeah! Lunch time, lunch time!" T.K. said happily.

"Hold on T.K., we have to find lunch first," Patamon reminded him.

"Oh, yeah. I forget," T.K. said in a disappointed voice.

"Don't be sad T.K., watch," Biyomon said and flew off towards a grove of trees in the distance. In a few minutes she returned carring a large bundle beneath her. "Who wants bananas?" she said and laughed as she dropped the huge bunch of bananas right on top of Agumon.

"Owww!, that hurt!"

"Sorry Agumon," Biyomon said in between fits of laughter as Agumon struggled out from under the bunch of bananas.

After they ate their lunch, the digi-destined set off once more for the opposite ridge of the basin. The sun slowly began its descent and around 5:00 that afternoon they reached the edge of the basin.

"The hotel is at the top of this ridge," Izzy informed them. "We're only about an hour away."

"Let's go," Tai and Matt said in unison. The two blushed at the incident, but nobody said anyting about it.

An hour later they reached the top of the ridge. They could see the hotel about a mile off in the distance. They were haedding in that direction when Joe suddenly yelled and pointed at the sky.

"What is THAT!" Joe yelled.

"It's called Phenixmon," Izzy said, reading the data off of his computer. "It's a fire type digimon and get this: it's a Mega!"

"Phenixmon's a vacine type digimon. Why's it attaking the hotel?" Biyomon asked in shock.

"Maybe it didn't like the bill," Tentomon said, still able to keep his cool in this situation.

"Actually," Izzy said, still absorbed in the computers data flow," it was once a Birdramon under Devimon's control. After he was destroyed, it must have absorbed some of his energy to digivlove to the Mega level."

All of the sudden Izzy's crest began to glow and a brillant beam of light shot out of the crest and struck Tentomon. "Izzy, what's going on?" Tentomon asked in fear as felt a huge power rise from within him.

"I don't know Tentomon," Izzy said as his digimon began to glow in a golden light.

"Tentomon warp digi-volve to......" Tentomon's body erupted into golden light and he grew to an enormous size, sprotting wings and horns and talons,"the golden knowledge of.....HerculesKabuterimon!"

" Now it's my turn!" HerculesKabuterimon yelled as he charged through the air at Phenixmon. "Giga Shocker!!!!" he yelled as he created a huge energy blast with his horn and then hurled it at Phenixmon.

"Phenix Flame!" the evil digimon yelled and shot forth her own incredible attack. The two energy attacks collided and the kick-back from the explosion knocked the digi-destines off their feet. All of the sudden and much to Phenixmon's surprise, HerculesKabuterimon burst through the explosion and appeared right in front of the evil bird.

"Hercules Claw," he yelled a beam of energy erupted from his talon and struck Phenixmon dead center in his chest, instantly deleting him. Drained of his energy, HerculesKabuterimon de-digivolved back to Motimon.

Izzy rushed over to where Motimon had fallen. "Motimon, are you O.K.?" Izzy asked.

"I'm fine, just exhausted. How'd I do?" Motimon asked.

"You were great, amazing even. I'm just glad that you're alive." Izzy held his friend in his arms and rocked his tired digimon to sleep.

Out of nowhere appeared a Monzaemon. "I saw the whole thing. How can I ever repay you for saving my hotel?" he asked.

"You think we could stay there tonight, charge-free?" Tai asked, siezing the oppurtinity.

"Sure, absolutely. Come on in and I'll have a feast prepared!" he said and ran back to the hotel to make the preperations.

The digi-destines recieved the treatment of royalty and after the substancial feast, Motimon was able to digivolve back to Tentomon. Everyone was quite contempt. Finally it came down to the time to chose rooms.

"I have sepperate rooms for the digimon, but what about you guys?" Monzaemon asked. "I only have three open rooms."

"I guess Sora and I will take this room," Mimi said opening the door to a room.

"Um, Mimi, T.K.'s already sound asleep in there," Matt said as he realized which room she'd picked.

"That's O.K., we can scoot over for him, unless you want him to sleep with you," Sora said.

"No, that's O.K., you can take him," Matt said.

"I'm taking this room, Joe?" Izzy said.

"I guess I'll take it too," Joe said and the two went inside.

"I guess that leaves you and me in the room at the end of the hall,"Tai said with a devilish grin.

"I guess so," Matt said, returning the grin. "Hey Tai."

"Yeah, what?" Tai said, anctuous to get to the room.

"Hold on a sec," Matt said and ran off to find Monzaemon.

When he returned, he had a small box with him.

"What's in the box," Tai said, his curisoty growing.

"You'll find out," Matt said, once again giving Tai his devilish grin, putting all of his charm into this one.

Matt led Tai into the room and quickly locked the door.

"Come here Tai," Matt said as he sat down on the bed and motioned for Tai to sit down besides him. Tai complied and then turned to Matt, curisosity in his eyes. "Lay down like this,"Matt said and spread his arms and legs in an X-patern. Tai complied.
