"Just seems like something out of a science fiction anime with people being eaten and changing." he took the health pack and stashed it into his pocket. "Thanks." he said as he took point and opened the door scanning the room with his light. The light moved over machines and small looking cribs that littered the way.

"Michael, since when did the labs have an maternal ward?" he asked noticing the small beds were made for newborns, but their were no sign of any being there.

Michael noticed what Drake had been talking about and headed into the room he was oberving, noticing empty cradles and stasis tubes full of preservation fluids. "This isn't unheard of from colonies, actually..." he dismissed, but then frowned, "...What is weird is why keep the maternal ward in the laboratories? They usually are down the medical wings. And that's in the buildings we just were to."

He went to check on a cradle, see if there was anything strange about it. "You're right though. A materal ward without anyone to tend to it, let alone empty of babies? I've got a bad feeling about this..." he said, unaware that anything might be lurking inside the same room.

Drake continued to walk through the room moving his light over the many machines.
"Waahh..." a small cry sounded causing Drake to twist behind him, but nothing was there. It wasn't loud, but it was close like a baby wanting it's mother.

"Did you hear that?" Drake asked his partner hoping he wasn't going crazy.

"Wahh..." There is was again, was there a baby loose? Was it hurt? Who would bring children down here? Either way it was getting creepier.

"Michael...please tell me you can turn on the lights in this room. I think there is something here."

Michael swallowed after freezing when Drake spoke. He was now wary, and cursed himself for being so overconfident. He began walking towards the wall where his visor could see a switch for the ceiling lights.

On the way, he kicked something, although he didn't dare to ask what it had been. He didn't know if it was organic or not, or even if it was pulsing with life. He just hurried to the wall and then suddenly threw the switch on.
