Almost every holiday people celebrate today is based on pagan celebrations in some way, even if it is just the timing of it.

One example being Christmas. While evidence that if Jesus Christ existed at all points to him being born in the summer, early christians moved the celebration of the day of his birth to coincide with the pagan celebration of the winter solstice to avoid persecution.
