Might i recommend sketching your artwork out in pencil, running over the final lines in ink and rubbing away the pencil lines when the ink is dry? that way, you have a more solid outline to your images, less mess etc.
I would also recommend using images from google as visual guides for your images, take your knife in your latest piece for example. You could look up images of knifes on Google, find th parts of them you like and draw them down.
Of course these are just my suggestions, you don't have to do as i say but i feel that they may help you.
