apocalyptic; The end of "man" kind (when yuri rules the world)

December thirty-first. 1999- Everyone awaited, as the supposed end-of-days came about, known as the Y2K. At the stroke of midnight, the entire world gave a sigh of relief, the greatest explosions going on around the world were the sounds of excitement, and fireworks. Little did everyone know that on this day, events were set in motion that would cause what many would believe would be the end of the world.

January first, 2000- A group of archaeologists uncover a strange box. All along this box, written in various ancient languages were curses, among other words of "caution". Also written along this box, strangely, was a single, 3-digit number. A number that signified imperfection. A number that signified monstrosity. The number that signifies the end of the world. 666.

many months pass, as many try to somehow open the box. Despite the various amounts of tools used to open the ancient artifact, it refused to reveal it's contents.

Years go by, as the artifact remains within white-washed steel walls, an occasional visitor waltzing in, simply to study it for any kinds of changes. Nothing.

June sixth, 2006- It finally happened. During a routine surveillance of the mysterious box, the top slid off on it's own. Eagerly, the scientific crew which, at the time were studying the artifact, they peered within the box, only to find... nothing. After years of constantly watching the box, awaiting the day it would reveal it's secrets, they find absolutely nothing. What they didn't know was that there was indeed something within the artifact that they could not see with the naked eye. A few days later, several members of the scientific crew died. The remaining individuals were confused, as the only connection between the other's death was 2 things. Their strange passing: a bizarre, twisted, grotesque appearance, when before they seemed perfectly normal, and that they were male.

June twelfth, 2006- Sudden mass deaths plague the entire world, as the population sudden takes a sharp dip, the death-tolls in the hundred millions. Immediate research, and investigation begins.

August fifteenth, 2006- The world's population decrease has finally stabilized, as well as the truth revealed. Within that ancient artifact lay an ancient dormant bacteria, which attached to a Y-chromosome, and mutated it, completely destroying the male anatomy. The box, which was unnamed before, has been aptly named "Pandora's box".

November, 2006- A world-wide census has been taken. Not a single male human remains.

February, 2007- Research begins secretly on a way to combat the "Pandora effect", the bacteria, which wiped out the entire male population.

April 11th, 2009- Research on a prototype drug, known as "Cnemidophorix", after the Cnemidophorus uniparens Lizard, which is said to temporarily alter the second X chromosome for any species, and transofrm it into a Y chromosome, when Taken Per Vaginal insert. lab tests confirm that the user can be immune to the "Pandora Effect"

April 12th, 2009- The drug "Cnemidophorix" is released on the blackmarket.
