The answer to that is yes, twice or thrice, but only if you count red-rocket.
He was never allowed outside to play with the other doggies, and often watched them sulkily from behind the bars of our main gate. Come mating season, when the intoxicating scent of females in heat drove him insane, he would chomp on his chains and thrash and bark and yelp and whimper while he watched a bunch of those... other dogs do what dogs do. In line. Mean dogs, they always did it in groups outside our house, plain for Dexter to see and smell. And there was always this one slut of a bitch that lay right next to our gate, on her back, legs spread. I always shoo them away, because they disturb Dexter. Anyways, it was usually late in the afternoons and everyone was resting, eating or napping and Dexter was especially restless that the chain was digging into his neck, fraying the fur a little. Calming him down was hard, and he was waking the neighbors as well as hurting himself. I was going to get the chain off him and pretend he escaped, but he would've tried to get to the females and probably hurt himself on the gate. So after thinking long and hard, and after a lot of conflicting emotions, I reached underneath him, and held his genitals. He contented himself by humping my hand, and calmed down.
He was two years old the first time that happened, and it was just soooo awkward and kinda felt... uh... incestuous (He's my baby!!) as well as... dangerous (the dawg was BIGGER THAN ME, it was so embarrassing. My little boy was hung for his size!), and I risked actually getting a lot more intimate with him (which I can't afford to do)... so I only ever did it when he REALLY couldn't help himself and was a little too energetic for his own good during these seasons. So it was like... once a year or something. I risked losing him and being caught by neighbors that way, but it was better than him strangling himself on that stupid chain. What miffs me was that I wouldn't have had any regrets if I was caught with my hand grasping my puppy's genitals, but I was doing NOTHING but lying down and talking and hugging him when the Neighbors decided to spy on me one night.
