If this isn't in the right section, or gets out of hand, feel free to move it where it needs to be.
Looking at the swords I have in my meager collection, from a spat of Shop-At-Home binge shopping, I started to wonder...
Which sword would I prefer? The claymore on my wall? The Katana at the foot of my bed? Or maybe, the double-bladed axe in my closet?
Purely based on your opinions of edged weaponry, which weapon, out of any bladed weapon ever made, would you choose? Why?
It can be European, Asian, heck, even farming implements can be considered.
Personally, I prefer a scimitar. Sweeping blade, good length, and the overal design looks good.

Ooh, versatility is moi fave, a pair of katars and greave-edges for za knuckles and feet!

Halberd, combines a good area coverage with a sweeping bladed movement, over all a great weapon.

Surprised noone mentioned this before but Samurai folded steel sword. That or a Pistol with a knife blade welded to the barrel...well you did say weapons with edges :P

Umm...I do believe you're talking about a Katana, GMSG. Unless I'm wrong. Good chance of it, my expertise is European weaponry.
But, the metallurgy of a Katana is quite interesting. 50 points to the person that can tell me why the blade has that distinct curve in it.

Yep you're right, they're the same. Also i'll take those 50 points because it curves when the steel blade is rapidly cooled during forging.
But anyway, does my pistol with sharp pointy knife count?

No firearms, sadly. Although, a bayonet IS a bad motherfucker.
And, yep, you're right. Due to the High-Carbon steel core, wrapped in a Carbide Steel Exterior, the blade curves naturally when cooled after forging.

No clue, but I prefer good 'ol LIGHT claymores, large ass range, petrifying appearence, kickass, and it is good for breaking. There are light metals for making it by the way, or bamboo with a small coat of stainless steel.
