curiousity is gonna kill me.

I recently got a new coffeemaker, to replace my equally new, but roach attractant Coffeemaker.

When I left for San Antonio, I made a pot that morning, and nothing was wrong with it. When we got back, Tuesday, I was in desperate need of a coffee fix. So I made a pot.

It took forever, like the water pump is clogged. Not only that, it makes it so much stronger, and there is so little coffee produced.

It reminds me of an old Jodie from ROTC:

"...they say in the army, the coffee's mighty fine, it looks like muddy water, and tastes like turpentine..."

I can't figure it out. I've washed out the resevoir and the lift assembly thoroughly. The only thing left for me to do to it, is to disassemble it, and run a q-tip through the water pump.

The make of my old coffeemaker is Hamilton Beach Brewmaster, the kind that you just press your mug against. It's a great coffeemaker, but, it attracts bugs like nobodies business.

My new coffeemaker is a Black & Decker. I used to love it. But, now, I don't know.

Is this just a dirty coffeemaker, or should I dig out that receipt?

Should I run the risk of losing parts, and disassemble it to clean it out?

Or should I whip out the sealant, and try and seal the old maker from the bugs?

I wanna know. And I want my coffee.

Ditch the caffeine addiction. There are better ways in life to keep yourself up and going. Like a good challenge.

Update: I tried making the grind coarser on my beans, and it no longer looks like muddy water or tastes like turpentine. Slow as a mofo still, though.

I've been eyeing the water pump off of my car, and my coffeemaker. Thinkin' on an "upgrade".

But, how does one adapt a Water Pump off of a Ford to a Coffeemaker?

did you change your coffee filters when you changed the maker? if you have different filters that could make it slower because really even if the the water is only coming out in a slow trickle it shouldn't affect the speed the coffee is made by much because most coffee makers have the filter half or more full of water at all times (unless it is almost done obviously) try a few different filter types before you return it or upgrade it with your car... because i can't see that working in your favor... *pictures the coffee maker exploding*
