All Hail the Orange!!!
#1
I learned a few days ago that the Orange Box will be released on October 19 this year for the Xbox 360 and PC. It will cost around $60.

For those of you who don't know, The Orange Box will contain Half-Life 2 *Remade for the Xbox 360 hardware* as well as Episodes One and Two, the Physics-based puzzle game Portal, and Team fortress 2.

This isn't the first time Valve has done this. Back in the early 2000s, they packaged the original Half-Life with Counter-Strike and sold it at the price for 1 game. According to the company, they benefit greatly from doing this.

Of course they benefit from it.

First they make a killing on the original content, and then the expansions/extra content releases.  And then when sales begin to slow on the stuff individually, they repackage it together at a slightly lower price and hook in the masses that didn't want to buy it at its original price, and boom sales are back up.

And the release date should be Oct 9th and also be for PS3.  Go to IGN for more info because they posted an article on it in May. But do yourself a favor and avert your eyes from the box art, because it quite literally is an Orange Box, and nothing else.
