Turning his attention to John, with some doubt in his voice, "So tell us, John...why don't you tell us a little bit about your friend who's outside, apparently injured. Like...a name, a description of him, and how bad his wounds are..."

"Right. Well, his name is Richard.. He's a bit old, but the best mechanic we have in this facility.." John said, as he tried to calm himself as best as possible. "He's wearing an old blue jacket his father had gotten him a long time ago. As for his wound, when we were escaping from the docking bay, one of those larger creatures had crashed through a wall, or something, and sent a large piece of metal flying.. he's impaled in the leg with it, and is pinned down between the wall and a bunch of debris."

Misty stopped pacing for a few minutes to look at Kalyx. "Oh uh.. sorry.. I'm just a little nervous myself.. I don't know what we would have to do if John was infected with one of these...things.." She walked over to the table she was previously sitting and and pulled it out in the middle of the main room, and sat facing toward John. She looked over a Keith standing against the wall and gave him a puzzled look, then back at Kalyx and raised her eyebrow. "This waiting is taking too damn long... the suspense is seriously killing me.." Misty looked down at her watch and thought, "C'mon.. just 20 more minutes...."

"Well.. the reason we waited this long was because we had to wait for the chemicals to be ready.. the chemicals that let us know if he was one of the or not. In order for us to know for sure, the chemicals had mixed and prepared properly." She brought the vial of blood, the chemical in a dropper, and an empty petri dish out to the main area where everyone was and set it on the table. "Now.. if the blood doesn't have a reaction, then he's clean. If the blood has a reaction and the petri dish explodes.. then he's one of them." She stood as far away from the petri dish as possible and dropped a couple drops of the chemical in the petri dish.

Suddenly, a loud shriek could be heard from the petri dish, as it exploded into multiple shards, and the blood shout out towards Misty.
"SHIT!" John shouted, just before his body began convulsing, as his head began streatching outward, his eyeballs popping out of his heads on long, tentacly stalks. He suddenly began to vomit blood, as he howled a strange, mangled howl, his chin splitting in half to the vile shriek.
He suddenly launched himself at Keith, just as tentacles began sprouting from his back. John was one of them.. an infected.
OOC: okay, to combat most things... you must use ballistics first, before torching them.. otherwise,. they'll just evade the flames...most of the smaller creatures can be killed by flame without ever needed to waste a bullet though...
combat rules are simple...sorta. Each person has to wait for the other three to post, before posting again.. so, if Misty posts in combat, she has to wait for the rest of us to post, before she posts again...
it is up to your judgement to determine if an attack lands or not.. and also, you may choose to become an infected and... possibly attack the other players, though you can still die...
Side note to Misty... from now on, your hypodermic needle supply(the test for infection) is limited, so, you only have 3 more left to test others... you can find other needles over the course of the game, but it is up to you on who to test...

Reacting quickly, Kalyx shouted, "Down Keith!" and grabbed his shotgun, which was slung at his side. Instantaneously drawing and aiming his weapon, he fired a blast into the creature's mid-section, halting its advance upon his friend.

He reached over and grabbed his sniper, aimming at the things torso and shooting it with his rifle. Using the shot to knock it back away from anyone.

"Oh shit!!" She ran and ducked under a table for cover since she was unarmed and unprotected. She let Keith and Kalyx take care of John who was now one of these... aliens. She took her nursing book under the table with her to try to find a way to cure him, but there was nothing. It was hopeless; John was a goner.
