That's just not true. I do enjoy Rage Against the Machine. Just like you, I just don't like gangster (I refuse to say "gangsta'") rap, nor do I like rap without substance (Will Smith, MC Hammer, and Run DMC).

Actually, the principle does change. If you partied like there was no tomorrow back in 1999, you're fat, broke, and drug dependent in 2007. I hate songs that try to cajole people into living like there's no tomorrow, except for "Nitro (Youth Energy)," but only because I know it's halfway sarcastic.

....You didn't understand anything, or are you just mocking me? Besides, it's a great song, music and all, and what you hate doesn't change it. I guess what you'd like best of Prince would be "Sign of the Times", not this one.

It reminds me how much my life is a struggle and that the next day could well be my last... It was powerful since the first time I heard it.

Pink Floyd is probably my most favorite band...so, they have a lot of songs that I enjoy. This one, Confortably Numb, probably has the best rock guitar solo....EVER! Also, the last lines of the song, are powerful to me. It describes how one's life never turns out as you wish it would.
(Sort of like my own.)
