Anna and Calibremon walked into the hotel, bold as brass, and trotted towards the counter. The clerk at the desk regarded all four of them with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes?" he asked, in a highbrow sort of way that tried not to be condecending... and failed.
"Marianna; party of four." She stated. As she spoke, she was figiting with her D-Transfer nervously. The clerk typed away at the computer's keyboard for a moment.
"I have no reservations with that name in our records. Are you sure your reservation is for today?" Anna got irritated and leaned over the counter, reaching for the flat-panel monitor.
"What? Of course I'm sure! Lemme see that!" she exclaimed, trying to turn the computer to look at the screen. As she did, a tiny spark arced from her D-Transfer to the screen.
"Ma'am please don't make a scene" he stated. "I'll look again but I don't - Oh, I'm sorry. Here you are." He handed them a set of 4 electric room-keys in a paper envelope. "Room 1035, Tenth floor, elevators are on your right." he said.
"Thank you..." Anna said, walking away quickly. Calibremon hurried to catch up with her.
"How did you do that?" he asked. Anna blushed and smiled weakly.
"Dunno. I just tried to B.S. my way in, like usual, and we really DID have a reservation. How about that?"
