Mind if I do a sports related rant in there?

Okay, if you'll let me, can I do a sports related rant?

Well...

Doesn't it just tick me off that in college sports (like the football and the hoops), only the top 25 teams can have numbers next to their names? In my opinion, that means something because the higher the number, the better the chance of your team going to the national championship game (at least in college football). But what if I'm a team that has no ranking number? Unless I beat them and better my BCS rating (btw, the BCS sucks!) I stink! Because my saying for the college football is:

"If you don't have a ranking number in front of your team name, you are nothing!"

Also, I'm starting to get a bit sick of that thing players do when their team wins a game. They pour the Gatorade over the winning coaches head. Just once, I'd like to put an end to that American sporting tradition (the getting the coach wet with sports drink bit, not the Gatorade).

Maybe I can be a cheerleader or a team mascot, and just before the end of the winning game for my team, I'll sneak out the back, swipe the Gatorade cooler and give it to some needy thirsty fans while the team and fans are celebrating.

PS. One more thing I'm starting to be weary of. Too much beer ads on NASCAR cars. Do you think they should diversify the sponsorships, so when I come from a NASCAR event, I won't feel the urge to down a Budweiser or a Coors Light in front of the couch?

The rankings on College teams are given to them through polls: Coach's Poll, Computer Poll, and Harris Poll (I still dont know what that is). Every year they re-evaluate all of the teams after the season based on that team's current roster. Most of the time the team that wins the National Title stays number 1 unless that team has a drastic change in their roster through the draft then most likely they will drop a couple spots.

As for the teams that arent in the top 25 they actually have chances of getting high up in the rankings if they just keep winning in their schedules get into bowl games and start winning. If they see a team that just keeps winning year in and year out pollsters are going to see that and get them up there in the rankings. As long as they win they will be ranked plain and simple.

o.O How can anybody that watches football games and not like seeing the coach getting drenched in Gatorade. Especially if its in the middle of winter ^.^.

...do you give any thought to how much Gatorade is poured on the winning coach, Disturbed? All that drink...wasted because of some American tradition.

That Gatorade cooler should be given to some thirsty fans, not wasted on a coach that has won a game.

I'm sorry to spit on that tradition, but it ends now! That cooler should help out needy fans who didn't get their Gatorade.

I will be stealing that cooler from that team when they least suspect it. I'd like to see something like happen on Sportscenter like..."Cheerleader helps out thirsty fans by borrowing her coach's Gatorade cooler two minutes before full time..."

Cool, maybe I should go and steal all the fireworks each time my favorite Football team wins, too. That'd make them very happy.

Well if the fans had enough money to buy the tickets to go to the game then I wouldnt be suprised if they could by drinks to go along with the seat.

Plus usually when you're watching a really good game you're not worrying about getting that drink. Oh no your mind is set on your team comming out on top.

It's just tradition. I'll grant you; it's a wasteful tradition, but it's a chance for the players to get a measure of revenge on the coach who pushes them in practice until they pass out.

I don't know much about college football, but I'm a professional football expert. I've been watching it since I was seven years old. I know the history, the teams, the players, the rules. I saved thousands of football cards. If anybody has any questions about professional football, I'm a good person to ask.

...here's a list of things.

1. Do you think they should raise the number of ranked teams in the BCS rankings to 50 teams (I still believe that teams suck if they are not ranked.)?
2. Do you think the CFL and the NFL should merge?
3. Is it embarrasing nowadays that you are on a team that's gonna be on free to air American TV and ESPN a lot and if you screw up a big play, everyone watching Sportscenter will see it? Do you think too much coverage would pressure the players to perform better, or make them screw up?
4. Is being in a bowl season game enough? The best try for the national championship game (and they get a shot at the amazing Crystal Football, too!).

Again, I don't care about college football. It would seem that the casual fan only cares about the top twenty-five teams, and it would probably take a lot of apple/orange calculations to figure out the next twenty-five. No, they should leave it the way it is.

No, because when the undrafted and cut players don't make it into the NFL, where are they supposed to go? The CFL is the best minor league.

They probably try not to think about it.

In college, it doesn't matter so much how well the team does as long as the individual player can shine. A bowl game would be nice, so would a championship game, but it doesn't matter that much in the long run.

That's the most coherent post I ever heard you say. Which is weird. I don't like sports so that's all I can say.

In my opinion though College Football is 10 times better then the NFL. In college football the players are there to play. I dont want to sound cliche or anything but College Sports have a lot more heart, spirit, and tradition into the games. Like the most intense rivalry games are within college football.
