So long as there's no opening in the wound it'll at worst leave a slight discolorazation when the skin grows back. If he opens it and it get's infected or something then yeah it'll leave a huge scar.

Yep that is a 2nd degree burn. Okay do what everyone is telling you. ALoe works amazing and do not pick at it! If you must then drain the blister with a small needle then wrap it in gauze. I went through this every day when I did that to my leg on my dads harley... ouch that hurt. So whats the story behind this nice injury?

I once got a burn on my foot. Freakin' hurt. But now the discolorization is going away pretty well.

It looks like that is an oil burn. Very painful.

Couldn't be an oil burn, and oil burn would stick to the flesh and burn constantly. He'd get a third degree burn easily from one of those, must've set it against something hot by accident.
