I say; you say; you say it's work, say it's work all day

I had my first day of work at my first post-college job. I felt really lost, and I got very little done. I've got less than a month to get RFQ's back on all of the parts and machining for a stator, and I'm going to have to do the same for about 20 other projects simultaneously, and I'm going to have to learn Microsoft Project, and manage everything in there, and figure out lead times on all this stuff, and... it's so overwhelming and tiring. Also, I had to wake up at 5:30 to be there at 7:00, though they tell me that I can show up at 8:00 tomorrow if I leave at 5:30. I know I can do this if I set my mind to it, but I don't think I want to make a career out of it. My greatest strength is in writing and reading poetry. Somehow, I need to turn that into a career. That's what the weekends are for; I suppose.

With someone of your apparent intellect and tenacity, it's difficult to imagine you having trouble with a job where brain-power wins the day. Every job is hard at first. Stick with it and you'll do just fine.

That's true, surely someone with your intelect can think of a solution for this sort of problem? You're the almighty Mr. Wisemon for the love of Digimon!

Perhaps journalism? You'd make a good comumnist, but they tend to be celebrities or well-known political commentators first.

Good luck with your current job. At least you've something to live on, hmm?

A movie critic! That's your future job.

Don't worry, jobs are hard sometimes at first. Now, you could get a job at a newspaper writing things but what would you do there?

My uncle writes for a newspaper. A good journalist has to impartial. That's a lot harder than it seems.

Now there's something I'd be great at, but they expect you to have film degrees and all sorts of other credentials for that. I couldn't even get a job at Blockbuster. I can find a way to hate pretty much any movie (except Ghostbusters), but that takes an expense away from my life, what with the average ticket being $10 nowadays.

I appreciate your confidence in me. With a little help from my coworkers, hopefully, I'll be okay.

Don't you get a discount for that? Or an expense account?
