They don't, that's why Peter was always so tired when he woke up every morning while he had the symbiote, it went out web swinging while he slept.

Yeah. While Eddie Brock, the venom host is more comfortable with his soo it probally doesn't happen. But there's a lot about him and the symbiot so wiki-ing it might help some.
