To me they look like Venom with female parts... and one's obviously yellow. Nothing I'd be to interested in, so you guys can go ahead if you really want to.

Nope. They have to live on slowly absorbing the energy of the human they're paired with. The human may get a little hurt but they do get powers. So it's usally a fair trade for some people.
