What's going on with the artists these days?
#1
I've noticed that a few artists (namely God of Chaos Mark and others) have kind of disappeared from the DAD. I see their works all over Soni's website (which is DEFINITELY NOT dwarfed by DAD anymore), but it's like they don't even exist on the DAD! I know about the problems with the art galleries, but I can't help but worry...

Have they lost the urge to draw?

Are they fresh out of ideas?

If they are, than I have but one word to say: NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The horrid truth is that the image galleries are so slow, that I stopped looking at DaD's artist section completely. Its unorganized, and makes the experience of browsing through work undesireable. Convinent for artists, but a pain for the viewing public. It gives me a headache everytime I look at it.

The author section is barely ever updated. Sadly, DaD seems to be dying slowly, or at least coming down with a really bad case of the flu...

Well I feel this warrants a few explanations, so here goes.

The current gallery system is in place to lower bandwith. Our old system could be accessed by certain auto-download programs that simply go through a directory and download every file in it. Our bandwith used to be somewhere around 250 gb a month, and now it's half that. And no, the amount of visitors did not go down, it went up.

Btw, 250 gb is a fuck of a lot of bandwith! It would cost over a hundred bucks to host that if it weren't for some rather generous donations to the site.

Also, we have not lost artists really, it's just that some are not active anymore, and with the new system, artists upload their own work, so that explains things pretty much.

As far as the content is concerned, I really have given up on being the largest. It's impossible without demanding some payment of sorts. The DHZ is indeed bigger now, but there are sites that deal just with digimon that are far larger. I am not going to be bothered with posting random art any more either. This site is just what it's called, the Digiartist's Domain, and I take the artists and authors into account first. I see no reason to post work from sources that don't even know it's here or in fact don't want it posted here at all.

But most importantly most of the changes were made to make sure the site could still continue. Dealing with bandwith and message board issues, etc. Just trying to insure this site is always here. If you have any useful input, I am always open to suggestions.

I guess this ones for the admin.

...well, it seems that there was a little problem while I was trying to upload my pics last time into my folder. For some unapparent reason, the thumbnails are not showing up. Tried uploading several times from different cpu's, yet to no avail-Can I get some help here?

Also, another thing-WOuld it be possible to get the comments back up? I know there were some bad cases of flaming and such(eg. Pussyniggernazi and one other), yet I believed the comments were actually a welcome addition to the revamped pic area! I just occasionally deleted the harmful comments to discourage the absolute crap or the other nonsensical stuff they were posting..While the comments option was up I got some encouraging feedback about what outsiders thoughtabout some pics; Which at times was somewhat lacking from the message board. COmplaints about this were unecessary, I believe.

i've kind of veered away from digi porn, thus i dont post too much. but if we COULD get the comments back up, then i might consider reposting my old stuff and doing up a few new ones (and maybe some requests, it depends on my schedule).

I suppose I'm worried because I don't like seeing fellow artists just die without saying goodbye...

BTW: I'm a pretty good artist in my own right, the only problem is I just don't have faith in my drawing ability when it comes to doing hentai :P . I don't take requests, but I love correcting mistakes on drawings done by others, or at a minimum touch stuff up. Right now I'm fixing up some of Anthony's older works (getting the face in proportion, lining up the eyes, correcting the posture, etc...) but if anyone else is interested I'd be glad to help proof edit drawings!
