I have never heard of such a thing. The only rumor I know of is that Canadians don't lock their doors.

Heat bus drivers? I think you mean "hate" bus drivers. It depends on the region you're talking about. In Toronto, the TTC system is really vast. So here's a few reasons.

Short version:

Some people are stupid or too impatient to use the system; other case is some of the bus drivers are too ignorant for their passengers.

Long version:

- Some areas are supposedly to be serviced by buses as often as 10 minutes or less during rush hour. Problem is that it takes way longer. Subways sometimes included, because there might be too many subways running on the tracks and being delayed by the volume of passengers boarding the subway ahead.

- Other areas are supposed to be serviced once every 30 minutes. It takes longer as well.

- Some people keep getting on the wrong bus because they don't read the signs. Some routes have multiple letter designations so the buses end up turning onto other streets when they think they don't. Other times people get on the express buses, and are stupid enough to ask the bus driver to let off between the stops because they never noticed the bus was express.

- Bus drivers follow their schedules as closely as possible. If they're late, they might not wait up for a person who is rushing towards a bus stop. If they're early, they will wait up to 10 minutes at a bus stop before moving on, boring you to death on the bus.

That's all I can think of right now.

It's sometimes true, especially in friendly neighbourhoods with rare or even no crime in it. Me, living in one of the most dangerous neighbourhoods in Toronto, always makes sure to keep all the doors locked and the windows sealed, especially when leaving the house. When I visited my friends in Nova Scotia, they never locked their doors because their homes were so remote. Heck, they didn't even have doorknobs for some doors, methinks as best as my memory serves.

Every bus service is different. I'vebeen taking the bus here in Quebec City and have never been given any reason to "hate" a driver, nor have I ever seen anybody expressing particular feeling aganst them.
