I take the leech; I'm bleeding me

I was sitting with a very vocal Republican at work today, and we were discussing why business was so slow. I attributed it to the fear that taxes will go up as soon as the election is over, no matter who wins. She claimed that they'll only go up if Kerry wins. "Yep, Kerry will definitely raise taxes more than Bush," I replied. I was being honest, but I didn't want to get into an argument, so I didn't mention the part where his tax increases probably wouldn't affect her, since she makes under $50,000 a year. I've tried for years to argue with these morons, but they keep getting taken in by the "all tax cuts work for me" crap. Bush claims that people can spend money better than the government. No, not his people. They'll just blow it on beer and cigarettes. I understand why rich people vote for tax cuts for themselves, but why do poor people vote for tax cuts for rich people? That money doesn't "trickle down" to them. It stays in its Swiss bank accounts (no offense, urban). Poor people who vote that way deserve to have their money confiscated, because they obviously don't have their own best interests in mind; they're masochists.

I've seen that cartoon on MSNBC a bunch of times. It's not bad, but as far as political satire goes, it's only mediocre. My mom got to judge Moveon's commercials. Some of those truly kicked ass.
