Dub, Sub, or Neutral

let's not get into that
in sailor moon there were
1 gay couple(one got turned into a girl here I didn't know he's really girly)
1 lesbian couple (they were "cousins")
and 3 women dressing up like men (the sailor stars eps were not shown here)
plus I'm sure there's a whole lot of other weird stuff there I just don't know anymore now

I am in favor of Dubbing and Subbing, and I am Neutral. THis may confuse people, so I will explain:

In general, I am neutral on the subject of Sub v. Dub, though I prefer the original Japanese versions for almost all series. However, there are some series where I do prefer either a subbed version or else a dubbed one -- I'll address those in a moment. My neautrality leads me to generally aim for RAW versions of the Japanese series, without the subtitles, simply for the authenticity they have over any subbed or dubbed product. It's not a matter of "I prefer Japanese VAs" or "THe Japanese version is uncut" or anything like that -- I just prefer the feel of authenticity I have when I watch it in raw Japanese. I usually end up with subs, though, which aren't too horrible.

THere are some series where I am blatantly Anti-Dub, at least as far as the current dubbers go. For the most part, any Anime on Kids!WB is able to suffer my wrath on that subject, and my favorite targets there are CardCaptor Sakura and Rockman.EXE (Known to the Kid!WB audiences as Cardcaptors and Megaman NT Warrior, respectively). In MT Warrior, the voices don't sound authentic for the characters, despite being passable for watching and listening to. In addition, it seems rather obvious that nobody at the company dubbing EXE to MT Warrior cared enough to consult the games for some things, and had to butcher the names of both BattleChips and Characters (I realize some people might take offense to ColoredMan, but the games use ColorMan for him anyhow -- and Torchman for FireMan? Ugh...). The plot, at the least, was preserved fairly well, in spite of the massive cuts to the first season. CardCaptors is almost the opposite -- the voices may hurt at first, but they're well done for the most part, until you see that the plot was butchered by changing Sakura's character and by making the series less Japanese in culture (which, of course, the show relied upon somewhat).

On the other hand, some shows flow very well when dubbed -- I happen to really enjoy watching the dubbed version of Digimon, in spite of the changes which were made so blatantly. I don't prefer it to the Japanese, but again, that's authenticity more than hating the dub (except for Zero Two I do not hate the dub of Digimon, though I may dislike it at times). Likewise with pokemon -- at least if I'm going to watch Ash do the same thing over and over, I may as well do it in English, and the few cut episodes haven't drawn anything away from the anime. Most of the dubs I really enjoy watching, though (Aside from Digimon) are on DVD, so I can watch most of them dubbed, subbed, or in Raw Japanese as I see fit -- shows like GateKeepers, Tenchi Muyo, and Ranma 1/2, not to mention DragonBall in all three of its forms.

So like I said, for me it depends on the series in question -- but in General I'll take Japanese Raw over subs or dubs without hesistation. Even the shows I enjoy the dub of, I prefer the original raw.

good point I can't pay much attention to raws but I'll watch them if it's sometihng I want to watch (and I agree with the kids wb thing too many cut episodes)

Sometimes, I could really go either way, but I'm mostly better off with subs. Face it, the dubbing in most anime totally sucks. And then there's the hentai. God, the dubbing is so horrible that it totally turns you off completely. =P

porn acting(and H-dubbing) is supposed to suck it's porn they don't have a lot of money to spend on scripts or real actor/actresses/VAs they focus mostly on the boobies and the doing it :)
