I just wrote this in about an hour and a half. I wanted to have a story that I could read to kids in front of the person they've taunted as my girlfriend (that's another story). I wanted something that worked on two levels, an extended metaphor. I think I've got it down.

In a land not too far away, there lived a king. He was a good king; he brought peace and prosperity to a country that was in ruins after the rule of the king before him. Most of the citizens of the king
