So it's worth getting? I was thinking about picking it up.

It's pretty good, except none of the songs hit the 4:00 mark. I guess that's standard for punk, but The Offspring haven't gone without a 4:00 song since their first two albums. Anyway, I'll go through the tracks and let you decide for yourself: 1.Neocon-minute long anthem song; 2.The Noose-nice hard punk song, but a little sloppy; 3.Long Way Home-as the title suggests, it's a personal journey song; 4.Hit That-the first single, a funky song about how people sleep around too much; 5.Race Against Myself-a heavy song about giving everything in life and getting nothing in return, certainly one that I can relate to; 6.(Can't Get My) Head Around You-definitely the worst song on the album, it sounds an awful lot like "Staring At The Sun", and I don't mean the U2 version; 7.The Worst Hangover Ever-ska song about drinking too much, one of those songs that makes it really hard to tell if you're listening to The Offspring or "Weird Al" Yankovic; 8.Never Gonna Find Me-this song features a new version of the classic Dexter Holland "Whoa-oh-oh"; 9.Lightning Rod-the best song on the album, this song simply kicks ass; 10.Spare Me The Details-funny song about an unfaithful girlfriend; 11.Da Hui-unfortunately, this will likely be the second single, a song about native surfers, it'll have to be censored for T.V. and radio; 12. When You're In Prison-crooning song about avoiding anal rape in prison, they didn't include the lyrics to this one in the booklet.

Ernie Hudson said it, but who wrote the script? Murray was the only one who improvised lines. For instance, his Freudian slip, "Check her out," wasn't in the script. No hard feelings, and if you like the movie, check out my tenth story, "Addicted To Spuds". The second half of the story is a Ghostbusters parody, and it uses many lines from the movie.

I've never really liked this band. They're not necessarily bad, but I just don't like their music. Those early singles still get played on alternative rock radio (which should be breaking new bands, not just playing the same old RHCP, Temple Of The Dog, Candlebox songs), and I found "Pretty Fly For A White Guy" to be more annoying than funny. People have been making fun of so-called "wiggers" for years. It was an old joke by the time they got around to it.
Then again, they're not as annoying as Jamie Kennedy.

I'm not a big fan of Pretty Fly (For a White Guy) either, but the secret to The Offspring is that many of the non-singles are better than the singles. "Kick Him When He's Down", "Smash", "Cool To Hate", "Amazed", and "Have You Ever" are some examples.
