Ryan found the strength to pull himself up and wander out into the kitchen. A plate of scrambled eggs and toast had been awaiting him for some time and had turned stone cold. Ryan shuffled past the table, fingers trembling, and made himself a cup of coffee. The boy stared into space as he drank his coffee, trying to shake the past feeling of dread from his mind.
After finishing his drink, Ryan dropped the cup into the kitchen sink and headed for his bed feeling the need to collapse.
