I've actually been thinking about why the 02 kids were barely seen. They mentioned that the gate to the Digital World had been closed for awhile. Maybe they were in the Digital World when that happened and got stuck there? After watching the movie again that seemed to make the most sense.

I wonder if they would get older in the Digital World.
