FACE IT, THIS PLACE IS DEAD.

I would support for change as the site is pretty outdated. Heck I don't think its change since I graduated high school and that was ten years ago. o_O

Yeah so we've been talking about this for a long time and shared some interesting ideas, most importantly the general consensus being a reboot should in fact be done. I also agree that a move would be better than a re-design but the remaining question is where to and what layout to use. I don't know jack about web design so I hope someone else here does. As fa as suggestions go I repeat my stance that where I currently post has a good system. We shouldn't rely on an updater as that led to a lot of issues in the past. Everyone should upload their own stuff with mods on hand to keep order. Call me crazy but since amateur art is literally everywhere, I just feel we should drop a picture section and only focus on lemons and possibly a message board, at least in the beginning. So, has anyone found a suitable server/web service yet? Or has some designs ready? We should get this in motion asap.

Honestly, as much as I support this idea, we're a niche community which are competing with the likes of Fur Affinity and SoFurry. FA for mainly art and SoFurry for lemons/fiction (for which there is a lot of Digimon stuff). We're going to have a hard time pulling traffic from these places, especially by word of mouth since we're so small.

Since I do support this movement though, my wife has suggested we not try a user submitted system unless we have the framework and hardware that has good scalability. Since we're small, this wouldn't be a problem at first (and may never become a problem), but if we do take off we'll need to keep with demand. FA has this problem and it seems like every couple of months that have issues with the ability to scale with its increasing user base. An submission system run by an active admin staff may seem like the only viable solution at the moment.

Same with me. And that was that long ago.

Question: Do you know how many fics on SoFurry aren't about Renamon or Gatomon or a male digimon that just so happens to be very furry? I know it's SoFurry but it's a question I had.

Well right now there are 1523 Digimon stories up on SoFurry. Obviously I won't be going through them all, but from a quick glance it seems things are decently mixed. Sure the level of Renamon seems pretty heavy. I didn't really see Gatomon as much though, unfortunately I did see some pretty questionable crossovers however. Halo x Digimon, really? >.>

If I remember though Gatomon ran pretty rampant here though.

This is actually the main problem I'm working on. The server hardware is pretty good, and theoretically could handle quite a few. The way I was thinking of is rather than forcing an admin to review everything, which would take quite a lot of time, would be to simply add a limiter to the backend to artifically limit how many submissions it can process an hour. That way there's little admin intervention required, and it's still reasonably fast, assuming a mid-range limit of say, 100 an hour. Thats an image every 40 seconds-ish, which should be PLENTY of time to process it, and server pages for a while uninterrupted.

Then, assuming we go over that submission threshhold, the uplaoder will simply get a "thanks, but we're under slightly heavy load right now for submissions. The system will process yours shortly, there's no need to reupload" message.

I do admit that FA has a lot of stuff to deal with including a huge fanbase uploading mass amounts of files left and right. I'm not saying it would be impossible to compete with them or any other site but yes I do see it being a challenge, if anything a challenge worth facing. Not to mention we'd only be dealing with digimon-related things which might not be in the best interests of everyone. But its worth trying. I also agree that Renamon and Gatomon being used in both pictures and stories has been so overdone over the years. Enough is enough. Sure they're more humanoid than some of the other female digimon but really, everyone can be more creative or move on to something else. They're also always associated with being slutty which doesn't seem to really reflect their attitudes on the show. Assuming anyone who uses them frequently even watches the show...

That's what I wanted to say. Some say the mass amount of Renamon messed up the board to start with. But I just say that there's other digimon to use. It's better if you expand what you do.

On Rule 34, there's 11977 pictures. And 4297 are Renamon. 829 are Gatomon. And that's not counting all the male only or yaoi. But that last part is my issue that Paheal doesn't have a filter for that.

I'm one the lot that used to write Renamon and Gatomon stuff, but since I was capable of submitting other popular stuff (Like Guilmon or Flamedramon), and less popular ones (Like Gaomon), I think that everyone has it in them to be creative as well.

What we're discussing with this train of thought is that people follow trends. Now that Digimon isn't nearly enough of a trend, the probability of stories being lopsided in favor of overused pairings or characters should be more equalized for those that honestly want to pursue the venue of writing digimon lemons.

I for one support that the DaD be recognized as the DigiArtists Domain because of the digital aspect, not Digimon, from now on. Because I know writers like Crimson Fox who can do very well with both digimon or outright furry lemons. Since I do prose for a variety of subjects, porn and clean, it would be nice to be contained in a site that recognizes effort on each person's chosen subject.

I don't mean to force anybody, but it would be nice to have a bit of compromise from the side that doesn't generate content. The side the consumes what others produce needn't pay a dime, but their words of encouragement or critics do authors a lot of good. Understanding that is the base towards giving the rise of DaD any reason to be. We may post 40 stories each day, but if nobody's paying attention or showing interest (view count is the least important deciding factor), then it's the same as if content was not there.

Just my two cents.

I'm here guys. Sorry for the absence. Actually I'm without pc, so that got me kinda unable to do much u.u

Anyhow. dv85 the last email I got from you was back in 2012. Since then I didn't got anything else from you o.o

Edit: I found an e-mail from you in my hotmail email. Sorry I didn't see it before. I got quite busy last year n.nU

Still on the ones in my yahoo mail, I only didn't reply to the 2012 mail since I did reply to the one you sent before that one.

Back to the topic at hand, I thought the site has died since around a week or two go I tried to enter here and all I got was a domain expired message n.nU

The revamping sounds good, however I think that a big reason as to why the site is dead is because of how people now is all the time on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, etc. I experienced the same thing in my forum :(

About characters overdone, for years has been Gatomon, Renamon, Veemon and Guilmon. Heck, Patamon barely would have some hentai if it wasn't for all those requests I asked u.u
