What if the Hito-Shura had fully transformed into a demon? (Nocturne FanFiction)
#1
Hello! So, as an avid player of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, I also played Nocturne (Also known as Lucifer's Call), and was COMPLETELY disappointed by the True Demon ending! I mean, what the heck? You go through hell to be transformed into Lucifer's general and you get a cliffhanger plus no personal gratification over being 'transformed', which was a brief flash of the eyes and NOTHING else... Bah! I decided to take it on my hands to produce an alternative chain of events where Hito-Shura (Demi-Fiend) would finally get what he deserves.

I was bored at work today. Therefore, this came out! Please enjoy as we try to answer the question...

What if the Hito-Shura had transformed completely into a demon after deciding to pursue the path of the True Demon?

(Note: Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne's plot devices and Naoki/Demi-Fiend/Hito-Shura belong to Atlus!)

---------------------

Naoki sat at the final Kalpa's arena, an arm over his bent leg as he silently stared at the door before him. He began reminiscing about the recent past: So many challenges overcome, so many foes defeated.

The corpse of the angel Metatron lie behind Naoki, torn apart by the brutal attacks from the demons he commanded; a hole through his chest cause of Naoki's Spiral Viper. The foolish spokesman of God Himself, wanting to stay Naoki from doing what he wanted. He would have none of it. The power he had gained through suffering and loss, through bloodshed and conquest; it was his alone and he would do what he wanted with it.

The Old Man understood this, and it was Naoki's belief that the contract that began with a single Candelabra would end in his already awesome powers being amplified a thousand-fold. Naoki deserved it; he was the almighty Hito-Shura. Several had tried using him for his own goals, even his ex-friends, but he had shunned them all, already knowledgeable on their ulterior motives. None of them understood: He was a being of power, a being that could not be controlled, yet would have an impact on everyone's lives.

Yet... there existed He. He who would defy his chaotic nature, the very nature that made Naoki what he was, who he was now. He was a demon, so it was only natural He would abhor him. Metatron had just been a sign of what was to come, and even one such as the Hito-Shura would not be able to contest with the Absolute One on his own; therefore, an alliance with the strongest of all, the Fallen Angel, was the sure fire decision.

Naoki closed his eyes, remembering his empty life as a human, days identical to the previous ones, every time. But now it was all different, nothing was out of the realm of possibility for him. Naoki had bested powerful beings one by one. He knew his ex-friends had already received sponsorship from Gods but they would soon have to meet and fall against his might, then he would reign triumphant and supreme over the Vortex World.

But that wasn't enough. After having learned it all from the Old Man, the secrets of Amala... The universe, in a constant state of death and rebirth. The will of the Absolute One had it like that. A world would be born out of a dead one, and after millenia the new world would again be killed off during the Conception, where yet a new world would occur. It kept the balance of the universe, but it also limited it.

Musubi, Shijima, Yosuga... Freedom. All those Reasons wanting to contest for the rights to continue His will. It made Naoki nauseous, he spat in their direction. Naoki didn't agree with that. He wanted no part in creation... he was convinced destruction was the only way to be.

As a result, the only faction that remained was the one that resonated with his own will. He was going to go along the plan of the Old Man. He was going to finally find his own calling and demonstrate his power to the entire universe.

Naoki stood, prouder than ever. Beelzebub, in his human form, made his way out of the door Naoki had been staring at. The demon lord bowed to the Hito-Shura and announced: "The Fallen Angel is waiting for you, master."

A quiet smile appeared over his lips. "Master". He was never going to get tired of it. Every demon he bested would immediately be his for the rest of eternity. Dismissing Beelzebub with a wave of his hand, the demon disappeared from sight instantly. Naoki walked into the room.

A curtain proceeded to rise before the Hito-Shura. He recalled this place from so many times he had peeped into from the holes at each interval during his descent on the Labrynth. The place had remained unchanged, with several demonic eyes staring from the cracks, ovationing and cheering the Great Demon as the Old Man was finally revealed.

Naoki remained silent, even as the Old Man complimented him on his feats and accomplishmeants. Naoki was already proud of having overcome the many Deaths the Fallen Angel had sent after him. Finally, the Old Man bowed his head and smiled happily, as if he was a father proud of his son.

"Witness now the birth of a True Demon of chaos."

The platform Naoki had been standing on began to slowly descend into a pool of crimson red water. As soon as the liquid made contact with his skin he felt it. The power was rushing into his body. Naoki was so sure this was the reward he had been waiting for...

He could listen to the rowdy cheers and roars from the demons watching him soak up the new strength the Fallen Angel was bestowing him. Naoki's decision had been final: He was going to shed his human skin and leave his human heart in exchange for even greater power. He was going to reign supreme as the demon of chaos.

Closing his eyes in somber appreciation, nodding his head forwards, lifting his arms crossed above him, he felt several jolts of energy hit his every fiber. The tatoos on his body glowed a sinister blue hue, the horn on his neck melded to his skin, sign that Marogareh had been totally assimilated into his body.

Naoki suddenly remembered when the parasitic being known as the Magatama was first dropped unto his eye from wherein the two were fused into the same entity. Now the parasite had been finally relieved of its task of supplying power to Naoki, and had been absorbed into his body.

Naoki's eyes widely opened, their semi-golden irises suddenly flashing red, the color extending to the rest of his eyes. They glowed threateningly red before the Hito-Shura suddenly spread his arms with a mighty roar.

The transformation had begun.

Naoki's tatoos began growing over the rest of his body, turning his human skin ebony black, the glowing lite-blue lines remaining as a gauge for his brimming energy levels. Naoki felt his body beggining to bulk up, the lithe form many times he had been ridiculed form vanishing in favor to thick muscle cord testament of his newfound physical strength. His biceps and pectorals became well-defined, his abdominals now sporting a solid six-pack. Naoki's legs thickened with bulging muscle and even his rump grew to an attractive bubblebutt that many would only dream of. His hands and feet tensed up, claws appearing where his fingers once were. He bent over and let out a small growl of pain as his tailbone elongated and became an extra appendage, enlarging until it became a thick black tail that flowed naturally with the rest of his body, the same lite blue lines from his older tatoos encompasing the fifth limb almost artistically.

Every demon bore witness to the large fangs that had replaced Naoki's teeth, but they were instantly awed by the transformation as the muscular, attractive demon suddenly spurted a pair of large, black, bat-like wings. Naoki had still remained bent over until this point but the pain coming from his shoulder blades caused him to arch forwards and let out a frighteningly loud snarl. His now long dark hair, having grown during the transformation, fluttered along as he shook. Two large horns protuded from the sides of his head, curling up and to the center were only a couple inches separated their tips.

Naoki grinned, feeling his strength, his magic, his vitality, his agility, all of his abilities increase. The swell in power would've been fatally overwhelming to any other being, but he was the Hito-Shura... No, now he was something else. Nothing about him resembled human anymore. Even his nose had melded into his face, his lips indistinguishable from the rest of his dark face which made him seem as if he had no mouth at all. He was an entirely new being, he had been reborn... again, more powerful than ever before. He was going to need a new name.

Naoki stood, again, prouder than usual as he was raised from the platform. His emotionless eyes looked up at the Old Man, claws clenched as his tail idly swished and his wings experimentally flapped.

"The transformation is complete..." announced the Old Man, spreading his arms out, "Behold! The true manifestation of Chaos!" he shouted, more ovation and cheers resounding through the deep chamber. With a proud smile, the Old Man looked down at Naoki and held his walking stick out: "Now go! You must crush those that would support Reasons... those that would continue on with His will! Then, after you're done climbing the tower to Kagutsuchi... you must eliminate it, break the endless cycle of death and rebirth for this universe that yearns only for freedom, to be free from the True Enemy's grasp! Only then, our final battle with Him will be possible. Do not fear! Even if He would curse you, I will forever bless you, my child."

Naoki simply nodded. He felt a compelling sensation to obey the Old Man now. Had the transformation been rigged in order to sway his will into being obedient? The very thought made his newly acquired demonic blood boil. He was going to need to take care of this later... But for now, he simply nodded, and was again submerged into the crimson red waters, wherein he disappeared... His place of manifestation was going to be where he had first awakened as a Hito-Shura, but now he was going to call himself something else... Something to reflect not only his new state but also his new power. Furushura. It was the perfect name. He wasn't just a fiend, not just a demon. Yet at the same time he was many times more than them all.

Naoki's red, demonic eyes opened once more. He found himself inside a hospital room much too familiar to him. It was the same place where he had awakened post-conception. The pathetic Forneus had attempted to stop him in his quest for glory, but had easily fallen at his hands- the first of many.

He quietly stood up, his dark-as-night body standing a full seven feet now, his beautifully muscular form a warning to all that would behold him. His wings fluttered experimentally again, he still had to get used to them. It would take time for him to be able to fly. He folded them on his back before exiting the room, then took a deep breath after he he'd exited the building.

He looked off into the distance, no way anyone in the Vortex World could miss the Tower of Kagutsuchi. It was time to pay it a visit and climb it while bringing down every one of those pesky sponsor gods that would threaten his dream.

The Furushura extended his arm to the side, opening his large claw. Three lightening bolts struck the floor and after a brief flash three demons appeared beside Naoki.

"Master," greeted a monstrous fly, Beelzebub in his true form.

"M'lord," Metatron, now bent to the Furushura's will, bowed to Naoki.

"Heehoo, nice to hee you again!" Black Frost, ever cheery to the point of irritation.

Naoki needed to utter no words. The demons would follow him to the end of the world or die if they did not. The party of four started for the Tower, leaving trails of destruction as they fought through hundreds and hundreds of enemies from the three different factions. They proved no match for Naoki's enhanced strength, nor his customized minions.

Noah was the first god to fall. Musubi was the frailest of the Reasons. A world where no interaction was possible? Ludicrous. Interaction was the base of everything, and solitude would not be compatible with his ideal to strike dominance upon his everybody. Isamu, now out of the broken, godly shell, could not do anything, he was paralyzed from fear. Lifting Isamu by his neck, Naoki said nothing, his emotionless eyes, his featureless face, it was enough to strike fear into anyone that beheld him. "What have you done to yourself, Naoki...?"

Snap. Naoki didn't need to respond the questions to a weakling who had dared to oppose him. After killing his foe, the Furushura dropped Isamu's lifeless body on the floor, taking one of the three stones Kagutsuchi had demanded.

Ahriman was a pain in the ass. Naoki didn't like the way it talked. So condescending, so unjustifiedly arrogant. The first thing in his mind was silence Shijima's Reason by finally mastering his skill to fly and driving a mountain shattering punch to the face. After the eldritch creature had fallen, Naoki stared at him down from above, uttering a simple phrase: "Game Over."

He dropped down before Hikawa could say his piece and smashed his skull with his sharp clawed feet, forcibly extracting the second stone for his collection.

Baal Avatar... Chiaki. For some reason, she had decided she was powerful enough to force her Reason of Yosuga on the whole world. The Reason where the strong rule? He liked how it sounded, but it was doomed to fail when the next Conception came. No matter how strong she appeared to be, the endless cycle of the universe, the way of Amala, would be the bane of her ideals. Foolish girl, he thought. A pity she would stop at nothing to listen to true reason and join him.

The battle was brutal. He had forced his three loyal servants to stand back as he fought against his former friend, now transformed into a giant statue in the shape of Baal. "You don't understand, Naoki. This world is MINE!"

Preparing to deal a deathblow that would end the contest, Chiaki swung her powerful arm in Naoki's direction, but the agility of the Furushura was way too much for her. In a display of his limitless strength, Naoki grabbed Baal Avatar's arm after dodging it and threw her over his shoulder, smashing her against the floor. He then proceeded to stare her down as energy cackled around his horns, energy gathering at the gap between the tips. Naoki reared his head back as the lite-blue lines in his body glowed their brightest, and at that moment, as Chiaki beheled his cold demon eyes, she felt scared for her life.

He released his most powerful attack; Freikugel, and blasted a hole clean through her head, cracking the whole statue all over. No more words were said. Naoki took his third and final trophy. It was time to summon the entity cause of this all...

With the three stones in place at the altar on the top of the tower, Naoki stared up expectantly. He was summoned to Kagutsuchi, where he met with the bright light that would shine the birth of the new world. But now that all the Reasons had been shattered by the Furushura, the world was to be forever in its current state, never changing from its devastated, post-apocalyptic shape. "Accursed demon! You who have allowed to be led astray by the Fallen Angel, come! I shall end your foolhardy once and for all!"

Kagutsuchi attacked with all its might, but not even a fragment of the Absolute One was enough to stop Naoki and his minions. Fire, ice, force, electricity, light and darkness, even almighty magic flew around in the enclosed mystical space, but Kagutsuchi eventually was beaten.

The light was extinguished forever. The overseer of the universe shattered, the whole Amala system suddenly ceased to be. With Kagutsuchi dead, the flow of time as declared by the Great Will was finally halted forever.

The powerful Naoki found himself standing in darkness, and from it two familiar figures emerged. One young, one old. They spoke to him, congratulating him on his efforts, but declaring that a final step was necessary in order to determine if Naoki was to lead the fallen angels into the final battle with the True Enemy.

Fusing their essences together, both entities became a single one, and as Naoki turned around he had to crane his neck backwards in order to see the towering monster before him. The demonical Lucifer floated before him, looming over, ready to test his might.

Naoki suddenly frowned. He glared up at his opponent for the first time. Now he remembered. If he was to lead the armies, he wanted every single demon under his command... Lucifer had called to him, and he was expecting Naoki to serve under him. Naoki, however, had found new meaning in his form as the Furushura. No longer would he heed the orders of anybody. No longer would anyone dare to oppose him after the Great Will had been terminantly taken care of. He would reign supreme over the entire universe, and Lucifer could not be his superior; it was going to be the other way around.

With his balled up clawed fists, Naoki felt the demon's aura envelop him, his rage increasing. His power charged to unlimited proportions, he prepared a Freikugel, but didn't fire it off. Instead, he swallowed it after it was done. Lucifer was baffled by this behavior, suspecting that his creation would choose to end his own life after having come so far.

But it was that moment of doubt that cost him everything. Naoki, empowered by the almighty energies he now commanded, rushed the demon king and, before he could guard, Naoki drove his fist through the giant's chest, piercing his pectoral. Channelling all his energies into that single blow, the empowered Freikugel released into the demon's inside, causing an explosion with the beast, completely obliterating it in one hit.

Naoki floated, his mighty wings keeping him off-ground. He looked down at Luficer's two manifestations, both weakened and sprawled on the floor, with a condescending glare. The old one spoke first: "You... Naoki. You've come far... so far... in such a short time," he panted.

"I'd never imagined such power... would be hiding inside you for all this time..." gasped the young one, before he continued, groaning as he beheld the beautiful, dark and mighty Naoki, "We felt it... you could've completely destroyed us with a tiny bit more force added to that punch."

"Yet you chose to let us live... We can see it in your eyes. You have no intention of opposing the reason we nurtured inside you, yet you have no intention of heeding us either... What is it that you want, Naoki...?"

Naoki lifted his arms as if in a preaching position. Both Lucifers fused into one, but this time only produced a wounded blonde young man, "You... you're the one I've been waiting for all my life... The Dark Messiah... the one who will liberate this doomed universe from His control!" he coughed, obviously exhausted.

"Yes, I'll join you... The Great Will has no chance now!" he exhuberantly spoke in spite of his condition. Naoki silently nodded, turned around, and the path simply revealed itself before them. His eyes glowed red with fury. He had finally achieved what he wanted. The power was his, every demon was under his, everything could be his...! Except for one last detail. He looked up at the near-blindly light at the end of the road. It seemed as if he had finally drawn the Absolute One's attention to himself. So be it. Another stepping stone in the road to conquest.

Behind him stood countless demons now. All of his servants and loyal minions, plus every other one who had until now been directly obeying Lucifer. Since the latter had been not only bested but dominated, the Furushura had not only proven himself superior but also directly earned the right to command every demon in existance. He was general and frontal line, he was now going to assault the Heavens and dethrone he who would attempt to bring Order into his dream of utter Chaos.

Naoki was no more. He was now the unstoppable force of driven chaos. And Lucifer, seeing his creation taking up the role he had been playing for thousands of years, began shedding tears. Tears of pride, fatherly pride. His 'son' had surpassed him, and was going to make his dream realize itself.

As the army went on, a Pixie came by Lucifer and cast the Diarahan spell on him. Back on his feet and fully healed, he morphed into his true angelical form and followed the army in tow, "I've fathered the perfect son..." he finally spoke.
