Adult Avatars

Since it's against the rules to be under 18 here, is it okay to have adult art in our avatars?

I'm not sure if anyone else has ever had such an avatar, but I was thinking of having something of Airu as mine.

I thought I heard something about that in the past that avatars have to be PG14 rated to be up... could be mistaken though, it might have been signatures but things change so much over time might be allowed now. Don't take my word for it though. ':/

I never heard anything about age ratings for those. This is a porn board after all. But I would agree with no yaoi/yuri in sigs. But that's just me.

Do realize that some people in the site often browse (or are forced to browse) the site from sensitive areas such as libraries or consolidated work spaces. Keeping sigs and avies porn free can save them a hassle so it would be appreciated to be discreet about stuff like this.

If you really want to put a pornographic avy, though, at least try to get something that isn't immensely conspicuous in order to help the latter cases to avoid trouble.

In short, no, it's not prohibited, but considering there are people in spaces where NSFW stuff is sensitive, keeping them low profile would be nice.

There's an option to not display avatars in the User CP, that I think is checked by default.

I don't argue that, even still it would be a big hassle to spend time enabling/disabling the option each time the user goes from safe to unsafe locations respectively. Disabling avatar display would mean no avatar at all would be displayed, pornographic or not.

Alright, so I don't really mean to argue with a mod here, but isn't it illegal to access adult sites in public places, at least in the U.S.?

If they can go on the website somewhere private, shouldn't that be the only place they go on?

And as you just said earlier, if the person could only access the site in a public place, they wouldn't be enabling and disabling avatars on and off.

I'm speaking for myself when I say this, but it's not illegal to access any site from my work place. The fact I am in an ENGLISH forum with two anime characters cutely heading up the web page makes it inconspicuous in contrast to the kind of attention I would get if Gatomon had DDs and Patmon wad casually tit-fucking her instead.

Some people, like me, during work periods in particular, have 2 daily stations to connect to the internet from, one of them public, one private.

Guess what I'm trying to say is that there really is no rule against adult avatars OR siggies, but if you feel consideration for people in tight spots you could still put what you want yet use something that isn't glaringly conspicuous.

Your choice though, nothing stops you or anybody from using pornography for their avys. :)
