*EDIT* The tornado was confirmed recently to have touched down in Calgary.

My city, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, was hit by a possible tornado last night. (July 13, 2011) There is significant damage in the main areas the tornado hit.

wow o.o a tornado that must have been scary but it seems to have not reach the city which is good cuz if it did well probly would be much city left.

It was pretty scary. It's never happened to me in my life, I only ever heard about tornadoes and never thought it would maybe happen to me...

But if it was a full scale tornado then I have no idea what 1.3 million people would do O.o

Yeah. Never have I heard news of tornadoes spawning even in Canada.

Meteorologists will probably see this as a possible manifestation of climate change.

We're okay, there were no reports of injuries. But being in the Calgary Tower during the event was not fun at all, I thought it was going to tip over. I truly do wish I brought my camera (unfortunately I couldn't because the batteries were dead) because everyone was freaking out!

Actually tornadoes can be quite common in Alberta, and have been for 100+ years.
