PMD Role Play

Okay, so I was planning on just writing a kinky Pokemon Mystery Dungeon story, but I figured it might be a bit more fun to make it a role play instead. I'm still working on the plot, but it would basically revolve around one exploration team in particular (this doesn't mean that any of your characters have to be a part of it) and their progress from starting out as just two wayward pokemon to becoming a famous exploration team. There will be plot, and it will mainly revolve around how the main character even got to the town he was found at, for his past is unknown to him. In that manner, it's kinda the same as the games, but that's the only thing. Besides aspects like a guild to help guide apprentices to building exploration team, etc. Anyway, it's a work in progress.

Well, I plan on it being a small role play; I'll only accept just a handful of people and you will be allowed to have up to 2 (maybe 3) characters each. Before starting, I just wanted to gauge everyone's interest to see that at least a few people might want to give it a try. I'll go more into detail about plot and character profiles once several people have proclaimed their interest. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. ^ ^

YES!! I have had this idea for two summers now (both times forgotten over winter XP), and would be honored to be a part! Count me in! :D

On a side note, to make it more viable as an equal-opportunity role-play (ie not centered around any one character in particular) I think it would make more sense that one half be "human" and the other half be "pokemon", or something like that, that way no matter how the teams end up forming, there are still viable partners. Just a thought.

Also I totally call dibs on charmander: I beat the red dungeon game with it (and a chickorita partner >:3) so it only makes sense I have it here.

Oh, and which group of mystery dungeon games would it be based off of? I've only played red rescue, but I did beat it, and I have the players hand book, so if we go off the red/blue ones I'll be fine, but I can't say for sure about the others...

Sorry, but there won't be any humans in this role play. =x Also note that there won't be any humans that have turned into pokemon either, if that's what you meant by the equality thing. XD

Just to let you know, I've nabbed Riolu as the main character with Vulpix as his partner. So feel free to help yourselves to the other 450+ pokemon that are left.

This role play will be more closely associated with Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky. :3

Nope, it's actually quite similar. It's just a different event happens that causes the main character to lose his memory is all. But he's always been a pokemon. ^ ^

I have no idea what PMD's plot or story is about, and I haven't played any pokemon games at all, but if you fill me in, I would looove to play. ^ ^ I've always wanted to play a Pokemon!

Trust me; you don't need to know the plot of any of the previous PMD games, but if you have played them, you might notice trademark similarities. XD So whether you've played them or not, you can still jump right in and it shouldn't make a difference~

Pmd stands for pokemon mystery dungeon; it's a classic game based on two completely separate series of even more classic games. Basically, you the game starts of with a personality questionaire, and, based on your answers and gender, tells you what pokemon you are most like; next, you choose the partner pokemon you would like to have; next thing you know, you wake up in the middle of a clearing, as a pokemon, with no memory of who you are or how you got there. ...
Basically the pokemon world has been subject to multiple catastrophes and natural disasters, making some of the pokemon become wild, confused, and enraged, and just overall unsafe for anyone. Because of this, Lucario formed the first rescue team: a group of pokemon whose goal was to go into places too dangerous for ordinary pokemon and help those in need. Over the years, as these disasters just got worse and worse, more pokemon took up the charge to form and join rescue teams. ...
And it goes on from there. Masquy, you wanna take over from here, my thumbs gettin sore from iPod typing.

Also, if that's the case, can I actually have a charizard instead? Pls!! Oh oh, and a meganium partner! Pretty pls?!?!?!

Edit: shit, I was lookin around to try to see if I could copy the intro from the players handbook, but no dice; it's been swallowed up by the great void that i's my room! Oh well, my thumb a little better, so I'll cover the last basic:

When you wake up, there i's a pokemon (the one you chose to be your partner) that finds you. You talk, and something happens that has you two go on your first mission. After that, you two decide to form a rescue team together, and, well, it just goes from there.

You go on missions, save pokemon, fight baddies, escort people through dungeons, and/or find items for people. As you go, you can recruit other pokemon to your team.

Last thing: it's called mystery dungeon because the dangerous areas created by the cataclysms (called dungeons) are always magically changing themselves: all of the general aspects, like the number of floors, types of baddies and items, and the general details about the area are the same, but stuff like floor layout, items, locations, baddies, traps, etc. are never quite the same twice!

No, I think you did a right fine good job, John. I woulda just linked a wikipedia page about it. XD I'm so bad.

And Luminous Spring is gonna be KO'd, so I'mma be evil and make you start out as a basic pokemon and when Luminous Spring is functioning again, then you can evolve~ That would be one of those trademark similarities since I'm pretty sure Luminous Spring showed up in both Red/Blue and Time/Darkness/Sky.

In any case, you're stuck with Charmander, and you can have Chikorita as your partner if you want. I'm actually using Riolu and Vulpix because Riolu was my starter and Vulpix was my partner in Explorers of Sky and I kept having kinky thoughts about them and that led to this idea. :3

One of the main reasons I had changed my mind to full forms i's because I had thought I could use my two as a team that had already gotten pretty far, that would either join yours our be "friendly competition", so to speak, but this i's cool: I'll just have it as a second team just starting at the same time as yours, and perhaps joining yours later, idk. ^_^ + :3

And you might wanna kinky that wiki anyway, just to avoid contradictions and because I'm likely to have forgotten something, as (for the moment) I won't be able to use my handbook to "cheat"
