Here I sit looking at my HTML editor with the little blinking line after a large paragraph wondering is this the best it's going to be? It is out of character, not fully devoluped(SP?) and kind of stretching but I enjoy every second of it, I smile despite being average at best I place it through the two checkers I have (Spell and grammar) before posting it later on FF.N.
I know I should try somewhat harder but really, it's for my own (and to an extent other's) enjoyment of reading something. Should we really complain about how the period is in the wrong spot all the time or how Daisuke would not bone Ken that way, ,when it is all free. Of course there is criticism, which is good and makes people better but some take it took far and complain in masses on some off site BBS unknown to the rest of the writing world (cough, moonromance, cough) about how the ever important canon is being raped.
I sit here thinking of which genre is the easiest to write for, I have a fancy for slapping two characters together for the hell of it. But my real passion lays in horror, no, that's not entirly correct, my passion lays in ghoststories as I have a thing for the spooky stuff but I usual leave be unless I really am in the mood for it (and sometimes I scare people, even myself!)
But of course they wonder how to fix fanfiction, they babble and wine about who is better, Red Oudeus Con X (supported by his opponent, Defender Of Nothing) or Defender Of Nothing (supported by his opponent, Red Oudeus Con X). One has over 100 chapters logged online 'bout two character devoloping naturally, sorry, "naturally", over the story. And nothing else. The other has 120 chapters about the same context only with more plodding and is so "in character" it's sickening. I tried reading both but found myself ether reaching for the nearest sharp object, a booze bottle to break over my head or a sleep. But give me a small half assed Miyako-Daisuke friendship thing I am a happy little sick puppy.
In short; the best stories I have read was these, the Owl and the Pussycat (999), The little sisters of Eluria (everything's eventual), riding the bullet (everthing's eventual, and a damn good ghost story too), Herbert West; Re-animator (read online) and Cool air (an anthology).
See a pattern here? I like real books as well as fanfiction, and a bet a lot of you do too. I just write to write, it is simple as that and nothing else.
Please stop thinking that in a hundred years everyone will remember "Usagi's carnal desire for Mamoru's dicky".
[EDIT: had to fix formating, I am new to the site ^n\./n^].
