Good News from Iraq
#1
This is a peaceful protest against the people who insist we are losing in Iraq and that there is little good going on in Iraq. I will be posting links to websites that show there are good things going on in Iraq. You can ignore them if you wish, but be assured that the news these links show will not go away.

I will not respond to any posts here and will not engage in any debates, thus the burden is on everyone else to behave themselves.

At least have the decency to read some of his articles if he's going to go through the trouble of posting them. That's the whole point of this thread.

Now, about those articles. Sources like the National Review's "All Things Conservative" are far from unbiased, and if that's where you get your news, your world view would be distorted. The Washington Post is a good source, but your article is a commentary, and I noticed the anti-liberal t-shirt advertising beside that commentary. I suggest getting your news from legitimate unbiased sources for the next five years, just to purge your system of all the crap.

Nice optimistic looks on the future... the deaths of all those people were really worth it...

Well I have no problem looking at biased sites as long I look at the other side also.

As for the war I have to admit there are some good things going one, but there are also many bad things. Of course I have limited knowledge of Iraq for both sides. I know the good because I have read/heard conservative broadcasters and read unbiased articles. I know the bad becuase I have seen the news reports of how over 100 people were injured in bombs and also debates on how things are getting worse.

Well the issue with a lot of the articles is that they illustrate individual good deeds, like a small group of people doing this, that or the other, saving these people, giving medical aid to those people. The sort of stuff that happens in every war that people propogandize to the world to show that just because the war is happening, there still is good. The US has a pretty red ass from this one, so they don't want to look like total shitheads for going over. That's what it's all about.

Kind of like how individual Germans were harbouring Jews in WWII, but were included in the blanket term of "Germans" as the bad guy. Same thing here: Iraqis view americans as an occupying force, despite the fact that there are lots of people who are doing things to help.
