I'm not an artist by even the wildest stretch of anyone's animation, but it's my humble opinion that as long as the eyes are good, the art looks convincing. The eyes in those pics are soooo cute. It makes me go "Awwwww..." inside. Your pal's got skills for sure!

It seems to convew a message behind hose eyes and makes the scene fill with your own emotions.... Enjoyed the way the bodies are facing in the picture and the poses of the characters....
