I like socks, since I've neglected to cut my toenails for over a month out of laziness and it keeps the flaking-off pieces of foot-calcium to rip off and create a sharp, irritating, jagged edge. They also keep my feet from getting to dry.
As for socks during sex, I guess it would create a sort of 'Decent, but not decent' clothing state, since you aren't literally NAKED, but the sex is uninterrupted from clothing.

Sex is a very decent thing if you really want it to be... or not if you don't... because decency is not a solid thing; it's pure opinion.

I wear socks quite often, mainly because I have freakishly long toes. Most people's are short and kinda bunched together mine are long and spread out, and they curl kinda thanks to never being able to find comfy shoes when I was little. If I ever find a girl with a foot fetish I'm set for life though.
