There's the thing.
Say you have a story that has sex as one of its backbones, as in if the sex is censored completely, the story doesn't make sense. However, the amount of non-sexual plot development outweighs the amount of sex.
Or, reverse it. Non-sexual material keeps the story cohesive, but sex makes up the, no pun intended, meat of the story.
